We all know that exercise is good for our health, but did you know that it can also decrease your risk of cancer?

October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
Take time this month to be Breast Aware.

Increasing physical activity and reducing time spent sedentary is likely to decrease the risk of breast cancer, a study of more than 100,000 women suggests.

The study, published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, found that a higher level of physical activity was associated with a 41% reduction in invasive breast cancer risk.

In addition, they found that for every 100 minutes of sedentary time per day, there was a 20% risk increase in breast cancer overall, and a doubling of risk for triple-negative breast cancer (which is more aggressive and difficult to treat).

The takeaway? Moving more and sitting less reduces your risk of developing breast cancer.
