We’re opening an opportunity for an experienced dermal therapist who is ready to step into a more structured, clinical setting — while continuing to build their own patient base.
This may suit someone who:
Holds formal dermal therapy qualifications with at least 2–3 years’ experience
Is already treating clients regularly (clinic or home-based)
Is confident in consultation, skin assessment, and treatment planning
Has experience managing conditions such as acne, rosacea, and pigmentation using evidence-based approaches
Is experienced in treatments such as facials, peels, LED, and microneedling
Ideally has experience with BBL or laser (or is keen to develop in this area)
Is comfortable recommending and working within a curated product range (training provided)
Understands the importance of patient education and treatment plans, not just one-off treatments
Works well within a team environment, communicates clearly, and takes direction when needed
Is self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently without close supervision

Melanoma & Skin of Colour – The Facts

• Melanoma is less common in people with darker skin tones — but it still occurs.
• In Australia, melanoma is most common in fair-skinned populations, however later diagnosis is more frequent in people with darker skin.
• Studies internationally show that people of colour are more likely to be diagnosed at a later stage, which can affect outcomes.
• In darker skin types, melanoma more commonly appears on palms, soles of the feet, and under nails (acral lentiginous melanoma) — areas not typically sun-exposed.
• Because risk is perceived as lower, skin checks may be delayed — making awareness especially important.

SunCoast Skin is a doctor-led, private skin cancer and dermatology clinic on the Sunshine Coast. We are expanding and looking for an experienced procedural GP to join our team in a part-time contractor role.

Our practice focuses on:
• Comprehensive skin cancer detection and management
• Procedural and clinical dermatology
• High-end advanced medical skin rejuvenation
• Laser-based treatments (QLD Health laser licence)

We are currently an all-female team and pride ourselves on a collaborative, supportive working environment where we value professionalism, respect, and strong clinical standards.

We are seeking a GP who is:
• AHPRA-registered Australian medical practitioner
• RACGP or FACRRM Fellow
• Confident with full skin checks, dermoscopy, biopsies and excisions
• Experienced in procedural skin cancer work
• Organised, reliable and able to run sessions on time
• Strong in documentation and clinical governance
• Team-oriented and aligned with a respectful, supportive culture

This is a well-supported, fully private billing environment with experienced nursing and administrative support. Sessions start at 2 days per fortnight with room to expand. For the right candidate, there is optional training in BBL and advanced rejuvenation treatments.
