On this my 66th birthday, it's only fitting that it be the birth date of my next evolution... And totally own my wise woman Nonna status!

One that sees me fully claiming who I am in my entirety.

MEAL INSPO: Today's yummy, nutrient-dense lunch that I created from things in my fridge and pantry shelf.

Cooked brown rice

Chunks of cooked chicken

A small avocado

2 tablespoonfuls soaked chia seeds

1/4 home-preserved lemon, finely sliced

1 tablespoon each Pepita and sunflower seeds

Generous sprinkle of dukkah

Light dusting of dried mint

Tossed and dressed with AC vinegar, EV olive oil, salt & pepper.
TIP: I meal prep by cooking ingredients (like the brown rice and chicken) rather than entire meals so I can use them in a variety of ways instead of eating the same thing for days. BORING!

When two inner worlds collide…

While still integrating all the inner healing work I’ve done over the past 6 months during my HeartHealing certification, I’m also contemplating on my yearly pre-birthday life review and how I want to live my life in the next 5-10 years.

My Higher Self and Spirit Team are also chiming in.

One thing is for certain… CHANGE IS A-COMING!!

For some months now I’ve felt dissatisfied and constrained to being niched in my work as a healer.

I know this is going against what all the business coaches say - “you must NICHE.”

Well, NO, I don’t have to. Freedom is my highest value, so being boxed into something feels icky to me and besides, I’m here to blaze new trails, so it’s my job to be out the front leading.

Aside from being a healer, I’m multi-passionate and can talk all day about food, cooking, nutrition, wellness, sustainability, natural ageing and beauty, travel, etc.

THIS IS ME, my lived experience, and I want to bring ALL of me out to play.

There’s a need in the world today for the wisdom I’ve collected over the past 66 years and it feels selfish to keep it to myself or limited to my circle of friends.

I’ve had people say to me “I like the way you do life” and “I never learned these things from my mother or grandmother. There are so many people in their 30s and 40s and 50s who could really benefit from what you teach.”

I’m actually shocked at what some people have shared with me. So many things I've taken for granted as basic in my upbringing which I thought was the norm for everyone.

YES, I’ll still be doing my healing work - that’s a given - AND I’ll also be breaking out of the box and sharing grounded, simple, life luxuries to elevate your life.

The other day I did a beautiful session with a woman who I enjoyed a divine connection with.

Yesterday I messaged her to check in with how she was going and if she had any feedback for me. She's a westerner living in Bali.

She was generous in her praise and honest with her feedback.
"I can't think of anything I would change. You did a great job of showing me what it is you do. Everyone I have spoken to were intrigued by it (it's that kind of crowd around here) but they instantly dismissed it once I shared with them the price."

My response to that was: "It's wonderful that you shared your experience with others. Bear in mind that they didn't receive the experience you did and have no clue as to the depth and value provided. Also, having been in the spiritual community for a long time (which includes western folk in Bali), I know and understand where they're coming from. I have done a lot of inner work to move beyond the "struggling healer" archetype that's prevalent in the community.

I now value my work deeply as I recognise that I'm a specialist in my field. Not everyone can do what I do. In general society, specialists in any field are highly valued and paid accordingly. Why not us?

A paradigm shift around charging for the powerful transformations we facilitate is long overdue and I'm grateful to be a part of this movement.

Individually and collectively, we can do more good in the world when we are financially robust creating beautiful philanthropic projects."

When you're working on a creation remember that progress, no matter how small, is still progress. You can feel disheartened when you feel as if you're spinning your wheels.

It can feel like doing a big jigsaw puzzle. You know the end result you want, but there's so many pieces that need to come together properly to create your masterpiece.

Do what you can with the little pieces here and there, safe in the knowledge that eventually it will all come together beautifully. Just focus on and do the next step so you don't go into overwhelm.

I'm a 3-times published author of collaborative books.

My first one, "Path to Success: Inspirational Stories from Entrepreneurs Around the World" was published in August 2008.

It was an honour to be included with illustrious spiritual luminaries of the day such as Dr Wayne Dyer, Arielle Ford and Brian Tracy.

In 2011, as part of the trans-Pacific duo known as Tess & Bess, we were on the leading edge of the online world doing webinars and summits interviewing amazing guests on the topic of all things related to consciousness as well as being guests on other people's summits.

We also had our own radio program called En-Lighten Up with Tess & Bess, before podcasting was even a thing.

I sometimes take for granted the things I've done and experiences I've had, forgetting what a quiet trailblazer I've been for the past 48 years!
