A message from Dr Roy:

As some of you may already be aware, my wife and I recently made the difficult decision to relocate back to Canada, in order to raise our young children closer to both of our extended families. This certainly was not an easy choice for us to make, especially when we reflected on the many close friendships and unique opportunities the Gold Coast provided us these past six years. I am especially grateful for the many personal connections I made within the tightly-knit community of Coomera Waters. As your GP it has been my privilege to encourage you in your successes, and to also be trusted by you during your times of vulnerability. While on my last day (March 17th) I will step away with a heavy heart, I am buoyed by the knowledge that you will continue to receive excellent care by the team at MFMC. I hope I will get the chance to say farwell to many of you in person over the next month.

If you're overdue for your cervical screening or you've never had one, it's important to put yourself first, and make time.

A cervical screening appointment takes about 30 minutes and can now be collected by a clinician or through self-collection at the same healthcare facility. Both options are accurate and safe. 🙌

If you're a woman or person with a cervix over the age of 25, who is sexually active or has been, you should be screening every five years to detect human papillomavirus virus (HPV) – the cause of almost all cervical cancers.

Book an appointment through your GP or preferred healthcare provider. ❤️
