Important practice update from Warrumbungle Medical Centre:
Due to ongoing doctor shortages, waiting times to see Dr Iannuzzi and Dr Yabsley are now approximately 3–4 weeks. Patients are encouraged to plan ahead when making appointments.

If you have multiple issues to discuss, it is important that you book a longer consultation. If a standard consultation is booked, the doctor may not have enough time to address all concerns during that visit.

Please note that requests for prescriptions outside a consultation attract a fee of $15 per item. Such requests are considered solely at the doctor’s discretion and will not be approved for drugs of addiction, antibiotics, or other restricted medications. If a doctor agrees to provide a prescription without an appointment, please allow 3 business days for processing.

Please also be advised that DHM Pathology’s last day of operation in Coonabarabran will be Tuesday 28 April 2026. This is a unilateral corporate decision by DHM. We understand that this will be a major inconvenience for many in the community.

At present, the only pathology collection centre remaining in town is Laverty Pathology, located in the Shire-owned building at 61 Cassilis Street, Coonabarabran. Any pathology request form may be used at Laverty.

The next closest pathology collection centres are in Gunnedah and Narrabri.

New hours: Mon–Thu 8:30am–5:00pm (lunch closure 1:00pm–2:00pm). Fri–Sun closed.
Patients with doctor appointments: please arrive from 9:15am.
