Today is World Autism Understanding Day.

An annual campaign developed in partnership with the autism and Autistic communities to create a more supportive, inclusive and autism-friendly Australia.

WAUD is about more than awareness; it’s about action.
It is estimated that in Australia 1 in 40 people are on the autism spectrum.

We proudly stand with this global initiative to promote understanding, acceptance, and inclusion for individuals with Autism.

What an incredible day at Sunshine Butterflies 💛

Our Community Open Day was a huge success, and we were so proud to officially open our Self-Guided Accessible Pathway, a beautiful new addition designed for everyone from our members to community groups and schools to explore, discover, and enjoy at their own pace.

From the moment the gates opened, ‘Our Backyard’ in Cooroibah came alive with connection, laughter, and community spirit.

Visitors explored our 15-acre space, met our amazing team, connected with our programs, and enjoyed everything from the Adventure Playground and tractor rides to our gardens, animals, and creative spaces.

It was such a joy to open our gates and welcome our wonderful community, whose ongoing support means so much to us.

We were honoured to be joined by special guests from Jessie Baird’s Family, Cr Amelia Lorentson - Noosa Council, and the Easter Bunny. We loved seeing so many smiling faces throughout the day.

Guests enjoyed a delicious sausage sizzle (thank you to Woolworths Noosa Village for your generous support), sampled our Pantry Condiments range, purchased beautiful creations from our ‘Chippies Corner’ and ‘Kiss My Art’ programs, and relaxed to the fantastic live music from our very own Chris & Tracey.

Following our spectacular members Easter Hat Parade, our Sunshine Butterflies Easter Raffle was drawn live with the 11 fantastic prizes going to the lucky winners.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along and our amazing team here at Sunshine Butterflies, you made the day truly unforgettable. 🦋
