Coloured overlays and tinted lenses aren't just a trendy concept. For some people, the right tint can reduce visual stress, pattern glare, headaches, and reading fatigue almost immediately. Intuitive Colorimetry is the science behind finding YOUR exact shade and not just taking a random guess. Precision matters when your visual comfort and efficiency is on the line.

We've seen kids labelled "lazy" who were actually working twice as hard just to keep words still on a page. Vision difficulties that can affect learning are real, they're not rare, and they're often missed. If homework is a battleground in your house, maybe it's time to look at what's might be happening with their vision. A simple test just might be key to unlocking a solution to their challenges.

Headaches after reading? Words jumping around on the page? Before you blame screens or stress, consider that it might be how your eyes work together. A behavioural vision assessment looks at the whole picture: tracking, focusing, eye teaming. Not just "can you read the bottom line ?" Comprehensive functional vision assessment can make a very big difference in treatment and outcomes.

Does your child struggle with reading, even though their vision tests come back "perfect"? You’re not alone. Here’s what many people don’t realise: standard eye exams measure clarity of vision but don’t assess how the eyes team together and how the brain processes visual information. That’s where Binocular Vision and Visual Information Processing assessment and treatment makes a difference. Here at optometry@cooroy, we dig deeper because sometimes the issue isn’t what’s on the page, but how the brain interprets it.

Many learning struggles that teachers attribute to attention problems, motivation issues, or cognitive limitations might actually stem from an undiagnosed visual dysfunction.

When educators begin recommending vision assessment before tutoring referrals, they help families target interventions more effectively.

Vision assessment deserves consideration as a first step rather than a last resort when children struggle academically despite adequate instruction and effort.

One-size-fits-all approaches don't work well in optometry. Some patients need glasses alone, others need vision therapy, some benefit from colorimetry or neurological tinting intervention, and many require combinations of treatments.

Eye care solutions should be tailored to each person's specific visual symptoms, and functional needs rather than following standardised protocols that don’t account for individual circumstances.

Our personalised approach involves thorough assessment, professional experience, and commitment to recommending what actually helps rather than what's easiest to provide.

Every few years, someone comes in asking about vision therapy for themselves after spending years thinking it was only for children. The surprise on their faces when they learn adults can absolutely benefit from vision training is genuine.

Vision Therapy treats adults with binocular vision dysfunction problems such as convergence insufficiency or strabismus and amblyopoia, post-concussion vision syndrome, eye strain from screen work, and various other visual efficiency problems. The principles are the same regardless of age, training visual skills to function more effectively.

The misconception that vision therapy is paediatric-only prevents many adults from accessing treatment that could significantly improve their daily comfort.
