Happy Monday Morning !
Big day of work planned today, with editing my menopause course and pregnancy nutrition programme.
Need slow burn fuel and brain power to be super efficient.

So after a big 60 min walk at dawn followed by my morning practice of yoga, some weights and red light, it's breakfast time.

A big serve of protein in the morning is one of the most important ways you can support your health...
Today it's eggs coupled with all the other super food goodies that are so easy to add to the plate...fresh greens (rocket), sheeps milk halloumi, free-range nitrite free ham, kimchi, field mushrooms and avocado 🥑 😋 plus a fresh juice.

45g protein on this plate, giving me over 60 percent of what I need each day for optimal health at midlife.
Maintaining muscle mass, bone density and metabolic sensitivity is needed at menopause.... protein and healthy fats deliver the goods 🙌 but all the other whole food, probiotics and veggies are the super star companions.

Who doesn't love a good poke bowl!?....
This one was a mix of quinoa with ground beef and spices including dashi, halloumi, mixed veggies and hummus. A simple, tasty and nourishing lunch. I don't eat many grains, but love the occasional meal with quinoa and always make a little extra so I can do a Buddha or poke bowl the next day. I've been using the most delicious organic halloumi made from sheep's cheese lately and it's just too good!!

I got up at dawn to celebrate a long time inspiration and divine mentor. Ms Brigid, Irish goddess of the sacred flame, holy water, and all things poetic, herbs, healing, music and so much more.
She came to me many years ago in a time of confusion and darkness and rather directly forced her way into my life, with her fiery light, passion , enthusiasm and clarity and direction. She's one of the old ones who bridges the two worlds of ancient sacred spirituality and the new religions of modern life.
I'm forever grateful for the sacred aspects of my life... that bring meaning and purpose in a busy world of needing to get things done.
My message from her today, on her feast day and Lammas, the early harvest festival...was to learn to flow rather than to strive. I'm needing a sacred pause in order to learn how to Be rather than Do. A task I've reckoned with many times before.

So with this breath and the next breath, I'll just reconnect once more, with birdsong and breeze, rose fragrance and gum leaves. And find deep gratitude again for this one priceless life and the gift to be human.

We love getting out bushwalking on the weekend in the local forests and this time of year has the added bonus of mushrooms! It's so good with the combination of warm and wet weather, the forests are laden with all sorts of goodies! When last in Europe on our pilgrimage retreats, we were there for porcini and truffle season - which is very special, but local chantarelles are hard to beat! Chanterelle is the common name of several species of agaricomycetous fungi in the genera Cantharellus, Craterellus, Gomphus and Polyozellus. These fungi are orange, yellow or white, meaty and funnel-shaped. Many species emit a fruity aroma and often have a mildly peppery and delicious taste!

I've been making this simple and delicious Granola recipe for years. While I'm normally a savoury breakfast girl, with eggs from my chickens on the menu each morning, sometimes I want a change. That's when I go for this homemade paleo grain free granola. Crunchy, slightly salty with just a hint of sweetness - contains a blend of organic nuts and seeds, plus a few other goodies, lightly roasted in the oven. The perfect topping for yoghurt and berries for breakfast or a snack. I make a big batch and store it in the cupboard and, depending whether my kids are home or not, it lasts for quite a few weeks!

Recipe for it, and other muesli us over on my website if you want it: W

For many of us, Christmas is a busy time with lots of social engagements and activities... but staying centred and taking time just for you can make all the difference. So many of us are a bit burnt out at this time of year, so the thought of obligations and giving can feel a little overwhelming. While we all celebrate but gifting and thinking of others, it's super important to also gift to yourself and fill up your cup first.
Daily self care rituals, when done consciously, allow us to rest and breathe in between the outer commitments we have. These seven tips are easy and cost nothing to do! You deserve time out and connection to yourself.

It's when we face grief, shock, disbelief and life's inevitable stresses that poetry speaks to us. Capturing the depth of human feeling when regular words aren't quite enough. Poetry has always been my outlet, my confidante and my companion.
In the light of what we've witnessed this week in Sydney and continue to witness in Palestine and Israel, this poem came to mind. Somehow, we must find our way amidst the darkness and atrocities that occur every day in too many places... both seen and unseen... and to both humans and the world of nature.
May love and life continue to conquer and overcome all that challenges it... ❤️ ✨️

Doors have always fascinated me. When I travel I love to take pictures of doors…old rustic doors, ornate beautiful doors or just a regular simple door that is often unnoticed.
Doors offer such timeless symbols of both possibility and mystery.
The unknown lives on the other side of a closed door.
Doors represent a threshold moment that can be captured when we decide to open and enter.
We can go through a door to an inside space or return through it back outside into the world beyond.
Each moment a choice.
Each time we are perhaps a little different after passing through the threshold.

Freedom lives within the bounds of an open door, inviting us in to engage with what lies before us.
We may choose to stay on the other side of this threshold, or we may choose to enter.

Life gives us these same threshold moments, when we come to cross roads and feel the quiet tug for growth, change and new beginnings.

So maybe it is time to find a new door to open or finally open the one that is right before you? It is only through taking a little risk or pushing beyond the comfort zone of safety and predictability that we meet the full potential of who we are and what is possible.

Pilgrimage isn't about the destination. It's about who you become in the sacred space between departure and arrival.
Our retreat experiences create the container for this liminal transformation. Through walking ancient paths, intimate group work, and expert facilitation, you're supported through the threshold.
This is where breakthrough happens.
