The assessment involves taking a thourough medical history and performing a number of tests including positional, visual and balance assessments

Balance is controlled by the inner ear (Vestibular system) the eyes (Vision) and your sense of touch (Somatosensory). When one of these systems is not optimally the result is often a loss of balance.

Vestibular Dysfunction Effects:
35% of 40+ year olds
65% of 60+ year olds
85% of 80+ year olds

BENIGN PAROXYSMAL POSITIONAL VERTIGO (BPPV) is the most common vestibular disorder, and may account for up to one-third of vertigo presentations to dizziness clinics.

VESTIBULAR MIGRAINE is the second most common cause of dizziness for those presenting to dizziness clinics.

I'm sure plenty of you out there have expereienced stigma when you tell others about your migraine. In my experience our local GPs are on athe ball in terms of their migaine and headache management strategies.

Treating patients with migraine needs time, as identifying what is a complex neurological condition is not always straightforward.
