Corryong Health

Corryong Health Our purpose: "We provide people with healthcare that matters to them." Corryong Health is part of the Hume Local Service Network

Our History
The origins of the Health Service date back to 1897 when plans to build the Corryong Cottage Hospital were conceived. In 1902 the foundation stone was laid for what then became known as the Victoria Cottage Hospital. In 1916 the foundation stone of the present hospital was laid. Over the years, the number of acute beds rose to its peak of forty-two in the 1960’s and on 5th November 198

3 the Upper Murray Nursing Home, a 20-bed high aged care facility, was opened. In the early 1990’s the Agency took the opportunity to apply to be funded under the Multi-Purpose Program. This was to enable a more flexible and responsive service to be developed that would met the changing needs of our isolated rural community. In 1995 the Services was renamed Upper Murray Health & Community Services and commenced operation as a Multi-Purpose Service (MPS). In 2017 the agency was renamed Corryong Health. Today, Corryong Health is a highly integrated and considerably larger organisation providing a broad range of hospital, residential aged care, medical and primary health and community support services. The service also operates a Medical Clinic, Health and Fitness Centre and the Retirement Village. Our Health Service is truly responsive to the community’s needs.

Corryong Health would like to advise the community that there will be no doctor at the Medical Clinic from 1st to 5th June 2026.

If you need urgent support but it is not life-threatening, get free help faster by speaking to an emergency doctor or nurse with Virtual Emergency Care.
• Virtual Emergency Care is a free 24/7 service that connects you to an emergency doctor or nurse from your computer or mobile. Adults and children can access the service from anywhere in Victoria.
• You do not need a referral from your GP, an appointment or a Medicare card to use the service. To use the service all you’ll need is a device with a camera (mobile phone, computer, laptop or tablet).
• Virtual Emergency Care is delivered by the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department (VVED).
• Register today, so that when you need urgent care, it's only a video call away. Pre-register with the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department at www.vved.org.au/patients
• If you are in a life-threatening situation, call triple zero (000) or visit your nearest emergency department.

Alternatively, you can call our Medical Clinic on (02) 6076 3200 during opening hours and obtain free advice from one of our Practice Nurses, or call Nurse-on-Call, 1300 60 60 24, a free helpline that will connect you with a registered nurse 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

🚨UPDATES!! 🚨
❄️ MORE STAFF TAKING THE PLUNGE FOR MND! ❄️

The Biggest Freeze is a community fundraising event inspired by the Big Freeze campaign, raising vital funds and awareness for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) through a fun icy plunge challenge.

MND is a progressive neurological disease that affects the nerves controlling movement and speech, and following the recent passing of Neale Daniher AO, communities across Australia continue his incredible legacy by fighting to find a cure.

Corryong Health is proud to be joining forces with Corryong College to support the 2026 Biggest Freeze for MND! 💙 Wednesday 3rd June from 1.30pm.
Sliders take the plunge @ 2.15pm!

The challenge is on… and our Executive Team is nervous already 😳🥶

💥 Fundraising Targets:
💲 $500 – Tegan Kissane and Jacinta McKimmie go down the slide
💲 $700 – Sam Brown goes down the slide (and Tegan & Jacinta)
💲 $1000 – Cyn Robins goes down the slide (and Tegan & Sam & Jacinta)!

Every dollar raised helps support people living with Motor Neurone Disease and contributes to vital MND research and support services.

If you’d like to donate, head to Corryong College's donation page:
https://support.fightmnd.org.au/fundraisers/CorryongCollegeBigFreeze

👉 IMPORTANT: Please send us a screenshot or let us know once you’ve donated so we can attribute your donation to the Corryong Health fundraising total… and officially send Jacinta and the Exec Team down the icy slide! 🧊😂

Let’s get behind a fantastic cause and show our community spirit 💙
