Thanks to our Curtin Heritage Living community, last Wednesday we donated 164kg of non-perishable food to Foodbank WA, who experience heightened demand at this time of year.

Foodbank WA works to fight hunger across WA by accessing surplus food and getting it to people and communities who need it most. They partner with farmers, businesses and charities to distribute food to people experiencing hardship. A big thank you to our staff, our residents, clients and families for donating so generously.

Last week we said goodbye to Artist in residence Des Sweeney. Guests joined us for drinks and nibbles for our final "chat with the artist" event featuring Des. It has been a pleasure to host Des and we look forward to keeping track of him and his wonderful work. In early December Elle Campbell will be taking up residency in the heritage Makerspace. On 1 November 2025, the Support at Home program will replace Home Care Packages. Find out what it means for you if you are currently receiving a Home Care Package, and access useful resources.

Last week was Dementia Action Week, a time to highlight the services and care available to those caring for someone with dementia or facing the challenge themselves. We held a number of events throughout the week, some specifically for our clients and their loved ones and others for the community.

This year the theme was ‘Nobody can do it alone’.

If you or someone you know needs information or needs to chat with people who understand, we encourage you to reach out to our team or the team at Dementia Australia.
