If you are a Curtin Heritage Living in-home client, or a loved one of someone receiving services through Shine or Carealot, you have likely heard about the new Support at Home program. You may like to take a moment to read some information provided by My Aged Care by clicking the link below.

The information is nicely segmented, making it easy to read and understand.

On 1 November 2025, the Support at Home program will replace Home Care Packages. Find out what it means for you if you are currently receiving a Home Care Package, and access useful resources.

Last week was Dementia Action Week, a time to highlight the services and care available to those caring for someone with dementia or facing the challenge themselves. We held a number of events throughout the week, some specifically for our clients and their loved ones and others for the community.

This year the theme was ‘Nobody can do it alone’.

If you or someone you know needs information or needs to chat with people who understand, we encourage you to reach out to our team or the team at Dementia Australia.

It was all glitz and glamour at Marine Views Cottesloe last Wednesday. Our clients enjoyed a musical masquerade event in our Lobby lounge. A glamorous entertainer singing music from the 1950’s, balloons, cocktails and of course our good looking Lifestyle team made for a delightful afternoon.

Start the session with morning tea then hear from dementia and aged care experts as they share knowledge, practical support, and lived experiences.

There will also be information stations with resources on dementia support, community groups, and practical tools to help families and carers.

Curtin Heritage Living is proud to announce the acquisition of Carealot, at home service provider.

“We are delighted to welcome Carealot clients and staff into the Curtin Heritage Living community,” said David Cox, Managing Director at Curtin Heritage Living. “Carealot has a proud history of serving older people for nearly 30 years. Together, we will build on this legacy to ensure a sustainable future for services and deliver even greater support to the community.”

Last week Marine Views Cottesloe lobby lounge hosted a colourful fashion spectacle. The works included in the ‘Recycled Memories’ exhibition were the result of an arts workshops involving Shine clients and faciltated by Artist Diana Kelly.

Recycled Memories was just one activity, funded by the WasteSorted grant. (Thanks to the State Government and the Waste Authority). All materials used were recycled amd repurposed.

Residents, families, staff and guests were able to enjoy the exhibition as well as meet the artists.

Waterfront Cottesloe residents enjoyed a Friday afternoon treat when artist in residence Des Sweeney and The Heritage Collective’s Elizabeth Clarke hosted an open studio. Des spoke about his art, his inspiration and spent time chatting with guests. Thank you to Des for sharing his talents with our community.

Don't forget you can pop in and see our artist-in-residence Desmond (Des) Sweeney during the week. Des is in the Heritage Collective Makerspace most days and, if you pop in between 10 - 2 you will likely catch him.

The Heritage Collective artist-in-residence program works to bring artists to our Cottesloe site to enrich the lives of our clients and the local community. Watch this space for more news on what Des will be up to during his residency with us.
