✨ Weeroona’s 2025 Resident & Relatives Christmas Luncheon ✨
Saturday, 6th December
On Saturday we celebrated our annual Christmas Luncheon across two locations and four dining rooms, bringing festive joy to our residents and their loved ones.
🎄 At Weeroona:
Our amazing kitchen team, led by Meg, provided a beautiful Christmas lunch across all three dining rooms. RAOs Sue and Kylie supported the festivities, helping create a warm and homely atmosphere for families who chose to celebrate here at Weeroona.
🎄 At the Cowra Bowling Club:
Some residents and families enjoyed stepping out into the community for a special luncheon hosted by Lifestyle Coordinator Nikkara, alongside RAOs Nikki and Shandelle.
A heartfelt thank you to the Cowra Bowling Club for the delicious meal and wonderful venue.
📸 A huge thank you also to our volunteer Tess Roberts, who kindly joined us as photographer for the day—capturing all the smiles and special moments.
🎁 We enjoyed lucky door prizes and watched a heart-warming slideshow showcasing all the fun, memorable activities our residents have taken part in throughout the year.
It was a truly magical day filled with connection, laughter, and Christmas spirit.

Today our RAOS Nikki and Sue C took 9 of our residents out on a lovely bus trip to Europa Park to enjoy the sunshine, laughs, and a delicious fish-and-chips lunch together. 🐟🚌🌿
A big thank you to Redfern St Takeaway for supplying us with the freshest fish cocktails and hot chips, and to our amazing Weeroona kitchen team for packing a beautiful picnic to complete the day. 💛
A special shout-out to AIN Kayla for popping in to visit us with her gorgeous Blue Cattle Dog, Hope — the residents absolutely loved the surprise! 🐾💙
We even managed to squeeze in a little sightseeing on the way home, making it a full day of joy and adventure.
And of course, a huge thank you to Cowra Bus Services for making these bus trips possible and helping us keep our residents connected with the community. 🚐💚

✨ Grandfriends Morning at Weeroona ✨
This morning (24th November), our wonderful Grandfriends from Carinya Preschool came up to Weeroona to celebrate National Fairy Bread Day with our residents — and what a magical morning it was! 💛✨
Together, the children and residents made colourful plates of fairy bread, shared stories, and filled the room with laughter. After morning tea, everyone joined in for some fun tabletop games, creating even more smiles and precious moments.
These intergenerational visits are truly special — the connection, the joy, and the gentle friendships formed mean so much to our residents. 🌈
A huge thank you to the Carinya Preschool children and educators for bringing so much sunshine to Weeroona today. We can’t wait for the next visit! 🌼

Our residents were lucky enough to be treated to the incredible voices of the Cowra Singing Studio on Saturday, 22nd November.

🌟 Cowra High School Visit – Meet & Greet & “Who Am I?” Icebreaker! 🌟
Today we welcomed the wonderful Year 9/10 Elective History students from Cowra High School for their very first visit with our residents. 💛
The morning was filled with laughter and great conversation as everyone enjoyed a fun icebreaker game and a “Who Am I?” activity—helping students and residents learn more about one another and start building those beautiful intergenerational connections. 🧩✨
It was such a lovely way to kick off this program, and our residents are already looking forward to the next visit!
📅 We can’t wait to see you all again on Tuesday, 2nd December!

🎶 Celebrating Intergenerational Connections at Weeroona! 🌼💛
Over the past week, our home has been filled with music, laughter, and the magic that happens when generations come together.
On Wednesday, 5th November, the talented Mulyan Public School Choir visited, treating our residents to a beautiful performance that brought smiles, tapping feet, and even a few happy tears. Their joyful voices filled our home with warmth and connection. 🎵✨
Just a few days later, on Monday, 11th November, our delightful Carinya Preschool Grandfriends joined us for a morning of tabletop games, giggles, and cherished moments. Watching our residents and the children bond over play and shared stories is something truly special. 🎲💕
These intergenerational visits aren’t just memorable — they’re meaningful. They foster companionship, reduce loneliness, boost mood, and strengthen our connection with the wider Cowra community. Most importantly, they remind us that joy spans every age. 🌟
A heartfelt thank you to the students and staff from Mulyan Public School and Carinya Preschool for bringing so much happiness to our residents. We can’t wait for the next visit!

On Monday, residents, staff, and visitors gathered at the entrance of Weeroona Aged Care to honour and remember all those who have served and sacrificed for our country.
Our heartfelt thanks to the Cowra RSL Sub Branch for once again leading this special service, and to everyone who joined us in reflection and remembrance.
It was a beautiful morning filled with gratitude, respect, and community spirit — Lest We Forget. ❤️

🎩🌹 Melbourne Cup Happy Hour at Weeroona! 🌹🎩
Residents came together in the Acacia Dining Room on Tuesday, 4th November for a fabulous Melbourne Cup celebration — complete with delicious afternoon tea, bingo fun, and plenty of laughter as we watched the race that stops the nation! 🐎✨
There were stylish hats, friendly competition, and a wonderful spread of sweet and savoury treats to enjoy. Thank you to everyone who joined in and helped make the day such a joyful occasion. 💐🥂

What a magical afternoon at Weeroona! ✨ On the 29th August Our residents, together with our Grandfriends from Carinya, were treated to laughs, gasps and plenty of smiles thanks to the incredible show by Troppo Bob. Huge thanks to the team for bringing so much joy and wonder to our community — we’re still talking about the tricks! 🎩🪄

✨ Father’s Day at Weeroona Aged Care ✨
On Friday 5th September, our residents and their families came together to enjoy a beautiful afternoon tea on a perfect spring day 🌸☀️. A big thank you to our wonderful kitchen team for the delicious spread they put on 💐🍰.
We were also treated to the beautiful singing of Alan Vorias, whose entertainment made the afternoon extra special 🎶💙

Then on Sunday 7th September, all our male residents received their Father’s Day gifts 🎁 and celebrated with a special cake, kindly made by the team at Mick’s Bakery Cowra 🎂💙.
We’d also like to thank our Lifestyle Team for organising these events, and all of our dedicated staff who pulled together across the weekend to ensure our residents could enjoy meaningful celebrations on such an important occasion 💕👔.
