Easter fun at Weeroona 🐰🌸
From sock bunny craft and Easter basket decorating to baking, puzzles and creative activities, residents enjoyed a week full of connection, laughter and Easter spirit.
Highlights included our Easter Egg Guessing Competition (congratulations Bill Roden!) and a beautiful live music performance by Nerida Cuddy as part of the Festival of International Understanding.
Of course, there were plenty of smiles with bunny ears and Easter hats along the way!

🐣🌸 Easter Craft Fun at Weeroona 🌸🐣
Today our residents enjoyed a wonderful morning getting creative with a special Easter craft activity, thanks to the team from Bunnings Cowra.
Residents had a fantastic time painting their very own Easter bunny pots and planting beautiful little flowers to take back to their rooms 🌿🐰 Each creation was unique, colourful, and full of personality!
A big thank you to Laina Kennewell, Activities Organiser from Bunnings Cowra, for bringing this lovely activity to our residents and spreading even more Easter cheer throughout Weeroona 💛

A Fabulous Finale to Seniors Week! ✨

Five of our wonderful residents enjoyed a fabulous outing yesterday to Club Cowra for the Absolutely Fabulous Seniors Week show. 💃

The ladies and Gents had an amazing time laughing along with the show and then stayed on to enjoy a light lunch together. Afterwards, we relaxed with a cup of coffee and tea, sharing stories and a good chat at the club, the perfect way to round off a lovely afternoon.

It has been a fantastic 2 weeks celebrating the 2026 Seniors festival, and yesterday was a wonderful way to bring our outings to a close.

But don’t worry… the fun and activities at Weeroona never stop! Keep your eyes peeled to see what exciting things we have planned for next week.

✨ Seniors Week at Weeroona ✨
A wonderful group of our residents recently attended the Seniors Week Meals on Wheels Luncheon at the Cowra Bowling Club, enjoying a beautiful afternoon filled with great food, music and community spirit.
A huge thank you to Denise Makin from Meals on Wheels Cowra-Grenfell who works so hard to organise these fantastic luncheons and bring people together. Events like this truly highlight the incredible support Meals on Wheels provides across Cowra and the surrounding communities.
We were also treated to some wonderful live music from Tony and Jules, who had everyone singing along and even dancing in their chairs! 🎶
Meals on Wheels does so much for our local community and they are always looking for volunteers to help continue their important work.
Thank you again to everyone involved for making the afternoon so special for our residents.

Three of our lovely Weeroona ladies enjoyed a beautiful afternoon out attending the Seniors Week High Tea at the Cowra Information and Neighbourhood Centre.
There were plenty of delicious treats, cups of tea and wonderful conversation shared with others in the community. It was a lovely way to celebrate Seniors Week and enjoy a special outing together.

🌺 Waratah Weekend at Weeroona 🌺
It was a lovely weekend in Waratah Wing as residents came together to enjoy some sweet treats and special celebrations.
Residents spent time decorating biscuits, getting creative with icing and sprinkles while sharing plenty of laughs along the way. Activities like these are always a favourite, giving everyone the chance to socialise, be creative and of course enjoy a delicious treat afterwards.
The weekend also included a very special birthday celebration, where residents gathered to wish one of our Waratah residents a very happy birthday. There was cake, smiles and plenty of well wishes shared.
It’s always wonderful to see residents coming together to celebrate life’s little moments and enjoy time with one another.

✨ What a Week at Weeroona! ✨
It’s been another busy and wonderful week here at Weeroona Aged Care Residence, filled with learning, laughter and community connections.
Residents enjoyed celebrating the vibrant Hindu Holi Festival, travelling to India from the comfort of their chairs during our Armchair Travel session. We explored the meaning behind the colourful festival of Holi and learnt about the traditions that make this celebration so special.
We were also delighted to welcome our Grandfriends from Carinya Preschool, who joined residents for a lovely morning of pancakes for morning tea and tabletop games. Intergenerational visits like these always bring so much joy and laughter to the home. It was also an especially heartwarming moment for resident Val, who enjoyed a surprise visit during the morning from two of her great-grandchildren who came along to share in the Grandfriends fun.
Residents also took part in “Discover What Your Name Means Day”, where we explored the meanings behind our names and discovered which names were the most popular among our residents.
As part of Seniors Week, some residents attended the Meals on Wheels Cowra/Grenfell Seniors Luncheon at the Woodstock Hotel. Everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch, a scenic drive through the countryside and even came home with a few prizes!
To top off the week, residents also enjoyed a visit from our much-loved pet therapy dog Bluey, who never fails to bring smiles wherever she goes.

🎶 Friday Live Music at Weeroona 🎶
On Friday 20th February, residents at Weeroona Aged Care Residence came together for a wonderful afternoon of live acoustic music, performed by the incredibly talented Abhishek from the Young Conservatorium of Music.
The room was filled with toe-tapping, sing-alongs and plenty of smiles as residents enjoyed a beautiful selection of songs performed with warmth and heart. There’s something truly special about live music it brings back memories, sparks conversation and connects us all.

Bluey’s gentle nature and loyal spirit bring smiles, conversation and calm companionship as she visits residents throughout the home.

🧧✨ Wishes, Wanderlust & Wonderful Company! ✨🧧
Our Chinese New Year celebrations continued today with a joyful morning visit from our Grandfriends at Carinya Early Education ❤️
Residents and children enjoyed red and gold glitter playdough, themed puzzles, and created a special wishing tree. Inspired by a Hong Kong tradition, everyone wrote their hopes for the year ahead and tied them to the tree symbolising fresh beginnings and good fortune.
The celebrations didn’t stop there! 🌏
In the afternoon, residents travelled across the world during Armchair Travel to China. Everyone received their own booklet filled with fascinating facts and trivia while we explored footage of the Top 10 places to visit in China, uncovered secrets of the Great Wall, and enjoyed the beauty and energy of traditional Chinese dragon dancing.
A day filled with culture, connection and community here at Weeroona Aged Care Residence Cowra. 🏮✨
