“I’m constantly picking things up and moving things at work and around the home so I stretch then.”

Sound familiar?

This is one of the most common things we hear in clinic when we ask our patients if they take some time to stretch.

Whilst this statement isn’t entirely wrong, it’s missing the point. When you move in the same way every day, your connective tissue ‘learns’ this movement pattern and gets stuck.

Think of a see-saw but having more weight at one end.

When you do something out of your daily routine you get restricted movement then pain. This eventually leads to tissue damage. Or you can get instant damage like a tear.

Let’s have a moment of silence for all the torn hamstrings at impromptu running comps...

SO. What’s the solution? Daily stretching and mobility exercises.

“But Marc, I don’t have time for that”

Research shows that 30 seconds per muscle is all you need per day. If you focus on the main muscle groups you can smash this out in 5 minutes a day!

We’re so excited to welcome our new Osteo Saza, starting with us in November! 🤩🤩

A little about Saza…

Born in Tasmania, it’s no surprise Saza found her passion in a solo sport, taekwondo. She’s competed in gymnastics, enjoys tri sports and added footy to her repertoire this year.

Her passion for movement and performance led her to Allied Health and connecting with practitioners who genuinely love what they do sealed the deal on becoming a qualified osteopath herself. She now loves celebrating all the small wins together toward people’s health and performance goals.

In her spare moments, Saza hikes, explores cafés and never lets a day go unplanned, living by her favourite saying, ‘carpe diem.’

Saza is very exited to meet you all at Adapt Osteopathy!

OSTEOPATH WANTED - Maternity leave locum with option to stay on permanently

CRAIGIEBURN, VIC

Adapt Osteopathy is looking for a passionate and experienced female Osteopath to take over an existing patient base at the end of the year (maternity leave cover). We have capacity for this practitioner to start ASAP and to continue with us on a permanent basis following the maternity leave cover.

Subcontractor position. Flexible Days/Hours (happy to accommodate part time or full time).
Start date flexible.

Located inside a fully equipped gym with a steady flow of referrals. Includes full gym membership, including access to group classes, sauna and ice baths.

What We're Offering:

• Someone who is self-motivated and eager to contribute to the growth of our clinic
