🏉 AFL: Love it or fear it?
From a physio’s point of view, it’s a bit of both 👀
The pros:
✔️ Builds strength, power & endurance
✔️ Great for bone density and coordination
✔️ Team sport = mental health wins
The cons:
⚠️ High impact = higher injury risk
⚠️ Hamstrings, knees, ankles & shoulders take a beating
⚠️ Poor recovery = problems that linger
The good news? Most AFL injuries are preventable with the right strength work, mobility, and load management 💪
