Here is one of our Pantry Staples, it’s something steady we always have in reach. It makes a big batch, about 25-30 serves, depending on how heavy your hand is.

Brazil Nuts, Buckwheat, Chia, Pumpkin, Flax, Cacao & Goji - They are the staples, but the rest you can get pretty loose with. More often than not, macadamias, almonds, pecans, pistachios, sunflower seeds & dried raspberries or strawberries find their way into this mix, and rarely do I ever measure them out anymore.

It’s called Happy Hormones granola for a reason.

For most people, the focus is always on building hormones, what to add, what to take, but they miss the other half of the story, which is just as important: how the body clears them, breaks them down, and gets them out of circulation.

In this mix, there’s enough fibre here to slow everything down so your blood sugar doesn’t spike and drop out from under you an hour later.  And it also helps move excess oestrogen along, turmeric nudging the liver to do its job properly.

The fats from the ghee and nuts carry it further, stretching the energy out so you’re not reaching for something sweet the second your body starts asking for relief from the day.

And then there’s the less visible work, giving your body what it needs to build, signal, and clear hormones properly. Zinc, magnesium, selenium, omega-3 fatty acids, B vitamins, dietary fats, fibre, prebiotic fibre, lignans, polyphenols, antioxidants.

Zinc from pumpkin seeds, selenium from Brazil nuts, magnesium threaded through from cacao and grains. The kinds of things that tend to run low right when PMS shows up on your doorstep.

Even the warmth of it deserves a mention. Cacao, Cinnamon & Turmeric. Not only do they change the taste of it, but they also alter the way it feels in the body. Granola is dry by nature, usually sitting in cold yoghurt, and the warmth of these ingredients just helps the body deal with it better.

And in the end, it’s just good. properly good. I don’t think I’ve had a client who’s made it once and not kept it in their weekly rotation.

Bhakti, at its core, is devotion, but it usually starts somewhere much more familiar: with gratitude.

Even if we can’t quite name the “giver,” we can begin with what we love. What catches in the chest a little. What we keep circling back to without trying. Let that be the thing. Let that be where we place our attention.

Gratitude softens you in places you didn’t realise were tight. Clears a bit of room upstairs. Makes it easier to feel your true essence.

Over the last 2 weeks, rather than setting intentions for ourselves, we've been offering the practice toward something, a person, a memory, a cause, anything that matters.

This is Bhakti Yoga. The path of love, devotion, and surrender. The yoga of the heart, if you like.

Traditionally, it’s offered toward an Ishta Devata  (a personal deity, chosen form of the divine). But it doesn’t need to be this formal.

It can be devoted to the people who are hurting in the world, someone you miss, the earth under your feet, or your breath when it finally slows down.

What matters is your intention, and that you truly feel it.

Bhakti yoga will feel different from person to person. The loving, nurturing and faithful Kapha types will be most drawn to this path as it stirs things gently and gets things moving without force.

For the sharp, overzealous, a bit fire-forward Pitta kind, it takes that heat and turns it into something warmer, less about pushing, more about care.

And for the "a bit everywhere at once", quick to feel, erratic, spaced out Vata peeps, it offers something steady to hold onto.

On the level of the mind, it eases Rajas, that constant hum of doing and wanting. It tidies up Tejas so the fire feels clean, not consuming, and most importantly, it feeds Sattva, that clear, steady sense that things are okay as they are.

Today I devote my practice and give thanks to you, my dear students. Thank you for showing up, and for carrying the torch of this ancient practice, for creating connection and a safe space for all to come to.

May this practice light your body, mind and heart, and those you are in relationship with today, and all days.

Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti
Peace, Peace, Peace

Enormous advances have been made in global child and adolescent health, maternal health, and women's rights.

Yet the needs of the 300 million women and girls menstruating on any given day remain buried low on the global health agenda, simply because many are too embarrassed for frank discussions about menstruation.

It is time to finally abolish the absurd silence and shame that shroud this natural biological event. Menstruation, a sign of good health, must be normalised and celebrated.

And this begins with education. We need better, earlier, and more comprehensive conversations in schools, where young girls are taught to understand, respect, and feel confident in their bodies.

Not rushed through or brushed aside, but properly explained, so that menstruation is understood as a normal, healthy process, not something confusing or inconvenient to be “fixed.”

Because without this foundation, many are too quickly guided toward off-the-shelf solutions to “regulate” their cycles, without ever being given the knowledge to understand what their body is actually doing or telling them.

Proper education gives girls that understanding first, and with it, the confidence to make informed choices about their health.

If you work in schools or with groups of young ladies and want to do something about this, let's talk!

Controlled by the energy of the lunar deities, eggs grow and develop in the womb during the moon's waxing cycle between me**es and ovulation.

Studies show that the immune system cells known as lymphoid aggregates also begin to develop in the wall of the uterus during this time.

At the physiological level, this may explain why you experience an abundant surge of creative and s*xual energies, vibrantly growing in tandem with the moon as she grows brighter and brighter.

Grab your copy of the Waxing Moon Profile on my website —> Resources

Inside, you’ll find a deeper guide to working with this phase rather than pushing against it. Including how to nourish your body as it builds, what kinds of movement best support your rising energy, and how to channel that sudden surge of creativity and magnetism.

I COVER:

– Foods that support follicular development and gentle hormonal lift
– Ways to train and move that honour your increasing strength and stamina
– Creative and social rhythms to engage with, while your outward energy is naturally expanding.

The Follicular phase (after menstruation in which oestrogen and testosterone start to rise) usually gives us a welcomed boost in energy and makes us feel more alert and focused.

With this increased energy, it’s a good time to engage in a more physical practice that incorporates some type of strength or resistance training. HIIT workouts, dance cardio or maybe a power yoga class.

It’s also important to ground ourselves and ensure we feel nourished going through the rest of the cycle, so make sure you balance this yang energy with some cooling yin energy.

Our neuroendocrine system (pituitary, pineal, and hypothalamus glands), is our body’s hormonal control system, and reads signals from our nervous system about how to behave. I designed this flow to specifically work on the nervous and neuroendocrine system, as well as the uterus/ovaries, to help naturally stimulate and restore hormonal balance. Yin Yoga is meant to be an introspective practice, which in itself, helps to rest and restore the nervous system and bring it out of “fight or flight mode,” so I invite you to soften into each pose, and breath deeply, to experience the fullest effects.

You can always pick 2 - 3 poses to transition you in or out of your day, or grab your mat and props, hit play on the playlist i’ve included and enjoy this delicious 75 minute Yin Flow.

*If you are in the menstrual phase of your cycle, heat a hot water bottle or heat pack and incorporate into some of the poses.

11/04/2026

Castor oil is derived from the seeds of the Castor plant (Ricinus cammunis), also known as Palma Christi. Castor oil’s healing properties have been utilised for many years. Ayurvedic medicine, Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and naturopathy recommend the use of castor oil packs because of their ability to promote circulation, healing and reduce inflammation.

A castor oil pack is a cloth or flannel soaked in castor oil, which is placed on the skin and warmed to enhance circulation and promote healing of the underlying tissues and organs. Castor oil packs can be used to assist in cases of inflammation, pain, growths, or when there is a need for increased circulation. Castor oil packs work by supporting the liver, lymphatic and circulatory systems. When it comes to fertility castor oil packs may be a great supportive therapy for:

* Supporting ovarian health
* Supporting fallopian tube health
* Supporting uterine health
* Supporting egg health
* Detoxifying before conception

Stimulation of the lymphatic system occurs by applying the castor oil pack over the reproductive organs where many lymph nodes are located. This helps to cleanse the reproductive organs and promote healing of damaged tissues where the pack is applied. The promotion of circulation by the castor oil pack will bring fresh, oxygenated, nutrient rich blood to the reproductive organs, including the uterus. Without proper circulation to the reproductive organs, the organs cannot function at their best which can leave them prone to disease, impede the healing of damaged areas and allow for the formation of scar tissue and adhesions.

**Precautions: Castor oil should not be taken internally, unless under the instruction of a practitioner. Do not apply to broken skin. It should not be used during pregnancy, breastfeeding or during menstruation. If you are actively trying to conceive, discontinue use after ovulation has occurred.

Ok, so admittedly, I sometimes create dishes selfishly, like this one, for example.

It was either Christmas or Boxing Day, I can’t remember, but this one was born out of the aftermath, not the glossy table spread that you see pictured here.

The fridge was full, but in a slightly deranged way. Bits of roast things, herbs going wild, excess dip waiting for instructions they’ll never receive, and extra carrots no one, but myself, was that excited about the night before.

I was just hungry and not in the mood for another heavy, festive situation. So I wasn’t really thinking about anyone else eating it. I was thinking about my nervous system, my digestion, and my slightly fried, slightly overfed state. I wanted warm and grounding without heaviness, a little agni kindling without too much heat, cause it was already fu***ng HOT!

And like I said in my last post, I’m very much in my Marge Simpson era, so creating numerous dishes utilising the same usual suspects has kind of been my superpower as of late, and so this was born.

I’ve made it again since. Intentionally this time. Warm enough for Vata, not too sharp for Pitta, still a little selfish, if I’m honest. But worth sharing. And since I’ve been leading you on the past couple of weeks with the labneh and then the Cilibr, I’m half convinced you’ve still got some tucked away in the fridge pretending you’re not thinking about it, when we both know you are.

Go on, make a move on it, I’d be disappointed if you didn’t.

FSH levels can help detect issues with ovulation and whether the ovaries are working properly. Tracking this hormone, together with other fertility hormones like Luteinising Hormone , can give you even more insight into what is going on behind the scenes. Healthy FSH levels change throughout the life cycle. Before puberty, it is normal to have anywhere from zero to 4.0 mIU/mL of FSH. During puberty, that level rises to between 0.3 and 10,0 mIU/mL. Adult women who are premenopausal and still menstruating should have anywhere from 4.7 to 21.5 mIU/mL of FSH, depending on where they are in their menstrual cycle. After menopause, FSH levels rise much higher, measuring between 25.8 and 134.8 mIU/mL.

Low FSH can make it more difficult to conceive, as it may mean your ovaries are not producing enough eggs. It can also signify a problem with the pituitary gland or hypothalamus, much like low LH. You may also have low levels of FSH if you are extremely underweight. This can occur due to an eating disorder. People with eating disorders sometimes stop getting their periods in a condition known as hypothalamic amenorrhea.

High FSH has many potential causes. One possible cause of high FSH that may impact your fertility is premature ovarian failure or primary ovarian insufficiency (POI), a condition in which the ovaries stop working before the age of 40.

Women with POI may still get an irregular period, but their ovaries do not work properly, leading to irregular ovulation or an-ovulation. POI is a common cause of infertility.

Another cause of high FSH is PCOS. PCOS is one of the leading causes of female infertility and affects all of the female s*x hormones.

If you are older than the age of 40, high FSH may be a sign that you have entered premature menopause, especially if you are experiencing symptoms like vaginal dryness or hot flushes. If you are under the age of 40, high FSH can sometimes indicate you are entering premature menopause, which is different than POI.
