We were honored to welcome the Hon. Minister Ingrid Stitt MP, Minister for Mental Health , to the NAS Recovery Centre for her first visit. This occasion underscored the importance of valuing mental health for all, regardless of background, and highlighted the government's commitment to collaborating with grassroots organizations.

A strong turnout from parliamentary colleagues, including Tim Richardson Lee Tarlamis MP Michael Galea, Gary Maas MP, Pauline Richards MP MP and Mayor, Cr Stefan Koomen JP - City of Casey demonstrated their support. Their recognition of our work positively impacts those we assist, alleviating concerns about service continuity and reinforcing that mental health is prioritized at this level.

During her visit, the Minister listened to firsthand experiences from our participants and dedicated staff, who shared their personal journeys and insights into how our trauma-informed, culturally grounded approach fosters trusted relationships within our community.

We appreciate the Minister's acknowledgment of the need for culturally safe and appropriate mental health and AOD services, aligning with the Royal Commission's recommendations and the Victorian Government's 10-Year AOD Strategy. This support ensures our services remain accessible and effective for all Victorians.

Thank you to the Minister and all attending MPs. We are excited to strengthen collaboration, sustain culturally responsive programs, and create opportunities for cross-sector partnerships.

We are proud to share an opportunity connected to the Operation Path2Home project, in partnership with Monash University.

If you have received support from the NAS Recovery Centre through the Operation Path2Home program, we warmly invite you to share your experience by participating in a short interview.

The interview will take 30 to 60 minutes, and participants will receive a $40 voucher as a thank you for their time. Young people will also have the opportunity to complete a follow up survey and receive a $20 voucher.

Your voice is powerful. Your experiences will help us better understand how programs like Operation Path2Home support young people, families, and communities, and how these supports can continue to grow and improve.

If you would like to participate or learn more, please refer to the flyer or contact us.

Thank you
NAS Recovery Team
