Three new measles cases in recently returned overseas travellers have been reported in Victoria.

💉 People born during or after 1966 who have not had two doses of MMR vaccine, or are unsure of their vaccination status, are advised to get vaccinated for measles.

👶 Infants aged 6 to 11 months can receive a state-funded dose of MMR vaccine prior to overseas travel through their GP or Aboriginal Health Service.

ℹ️ Measles is a highly infectious viral disease that can lead to uncommon but serious complications, such as pneumonia and brain inflammation (encephalitis).

👉 Exposure: New public exposure sites have been identified.
People who have attended the listed exposure sites, during the specified dates and times contained within the link below, should monitor for symptoms of measles.

⚠️ Symptoms: Anyone who develops symptoms of measles should seek medical care. Wear a mask and call ahead to make sure you can be isolated from others.

Dr Aung has worked at Canberra Hospital for four years as an RMO and did her General Practice training in the Gippsland area of Traralgon, Maffra and Sale before becoming Fellow of Royal Collage of General Practice 2014. She has 16 years working experience in Australian Health care. She also has a Diploma in Paediatrics from The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in 2014. Welcome Dr Manjeet Sandhu to join our specialist team.

Dr Manjeet Sandhu(MBBS (Hons), PhD, FRACP)

Manjeet is a Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist and graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine with Honours from University of Melbourne before going on to complete her PhD in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) at Monash University.

Manjeet is now consulting at Evans Road Medical
Centre in Cranbourne West. She is also a staff specialist at Monash
Public Hospital.

Manjeet welcomes all referrals such as: Open access endoscopy, positive FOBT from the national bowel cancer screening program, re**al bleeding, iron deficiency, abdominal pain and deranged liver function tests.

Evaluation and management of gastrointestinal disorders including irritable bowel syndrome, coeliac disease, iron deficiency and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and liver diseases.

Manjeet will provide advice for surveillance colonoscopies based on histology.

Dr Harsh (Phonetic: H-uh-r Sh) Sharma is a passionate Paediatrician working in Australia. Dr Sharma has extensive work experience of working in India, United Kingdom and Australia. He has trained and worked for
nearly fourteen years since completion of his General Paediatrics training In India.

He has keen interest in Neonates and has worked as Neonatal fellow for two years each in Royal London Hospital, UK and Monash Newborns in Victoria, Australia. He has gained further experience and training in Victoria at hospitals affiliated with Monash Health, Eastern Health, Grampians Health, Peninsula health, Alfred health, La Trobe Regional Hospital in Traralgon and Tamworth rural referral

Australasian College of Physicians.

He also has special interest in children’s developmental and behavioural issues apart from managing general paediatric medical issues.
