Most people treating pain have never actually seen where the inflammation is.

This thermal imaging technology pinpoints exactly where inflammation is present in the body, how significant it is, and which structures it is coming from. For sciatica, lower back pain and knee pain, this changes how we approach care entirely.

What makes it particularly useful is the ability to rescan every few weeks and track changes objectively over time, so we can see in real terms whether the body is moving in the right direction.

If you have been dealing with ongoing pain and want to understand what is actually happening beneath the surface, DM us ‘THERMPIX’ to find out more.

If your disc, your pelvis and your glutes had a conversation, here’s what they’d be saying.

When pelvic alignment is off, the discs above it stop moving the way they should. Discs rely on movement to get their nutrients which meansno movement, no hydration.

Some muscles compensate by tightening, others switch off. Most people address the tight and weak muscles without ever looking at what is driving it.

Spinal decompression creates a negative pressure inside the disc, the opposite of the compression causing the problem. Non-surgical and targeted at the source.

We have a special offer that includes all assessments, X-rays, scans and access to the decompression table. Comment “decomp” below and we will be in touch.

12 years as a chiropractor. Here is why pain keeps coming back.

Treating the pain instead of the cause. Not properly identifying what is driving the issue in the first place.

Stopping care the moment things start to feel better. Never tracking whether progress is actually happening. And lifestyle habits that never changed.

These are the five reasons we see people end up back where they started.

If you are looking for a long term approach rather than short term relief, DM us “SOLUTION” and we will take it from there.

Physio vs chiro — what is the actual difference?

When someone comes in with knee pain, a physio will typically assess and treat the knee directly, mobilisation, stretches, rehabilitation exercises focused on the area of complaint.

A chiropractor looks at the whole body first.

If your pelvis is out of alignment, it changes how load distributes through the hip, knee and ankle on both sides. The knee is often where the stress shows up, but not necessarily where it starts.

That is the core difference. One approach focuses on the site of pain. The other looks for what is driving it.

If you have been dealing with knee pain and want to understand what is actually behind it, DM us to book an assessment.

Heart rate variability is one of the most recognised markers for understanding how lifestyle choices affect overall health and how well the body is adapting to daily demands.

At Atlaxis, we use HRV as part of our assessment process to get a clearer picture of what is happening beyond just the spine.

Two technologies we use for sciatica and lower back pain.

1. Digital X-Rays:
Before anything else, we need to understand what is actually happening. Digital X-rays allow us to see which discs are affected, at what level, and what may have contributed to the wear over time. This is what allows us to build a care plan around your specific situation rather than guessing.

2. Spinal Decompression:
Once we know which discs are involved, the decompression table is set to target those specific levels. It works by rhythmically stretching and opening the disc space, then moving side to side to support rehydration of the disc, all while applying heat and vibration to the surrounding tissue.

For those looking for a structured, non-surgical approach to sciatica and lower back pain, this is where we start.

Happy birthday Luci, our wonderful practice manager who had a birthday this week! 🥳

Our backbone, and the person who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes, from managing the clinic day to day, training our CAs, setting up tech (that decides it wants to work half the time) and driving projects forward without missing a beat.

Atlaxis would not be what it is without you. Here’s to another great year. 🎉

Spinal decompression works by gently opening the joint space to help take pressure off the disc and surrounding nerves. What makes this table different is that it moves in multiple directions simultaneously, side to side, while decompressing, while applying heat and vibration to the surrounding tissue.

The combination of controlled traction, multi-directional movement, heat and vibration is designed to target the disc from multiple angles and support the surrounding muscles and tissue at the same time.

For those looking for a non-surgical approach to sciatica and lower back pain, this is one of the more targeted options available.

Sciatica and lower back pain, a three step approach before considering injections or surgery.

Step 1 — Assessment Digital X-rays and Thermix thermal imaging to understand what may be happening in your spine and nervous system. Spinal alignment, heat patterns, inflammation markers. A care plan built around your situation, not a generic protocol.

Step 2 — Chiropractic Adjustments Designed to improve movement through the joints of the spine and support nervous system function. When the spine moves well, stress through the area can reduce and the body is better positioned to recover.

Step 3 — Spinal Decompression A controlled, targeted stretch of the spine to help take pressure off the discs and surrounding nerves. The table angle is adjusted based on your assessment findings to target the areas that need the most attention.

The most important step is always finding out what is actually going on first.

Three ways to take pressure off the sciatic nerve.

1. The 90/90 Position Lie on your back, place your calves on a chair, and fully relax. This reduces load through the lower back and helps decompress the sciatic nerve at its source.

2. Rolled Towel Technique Place a rolled towel on the opposite side to your symptoms, lie on your side, and bend your knees. This offloads the nerve and shortens the sciatic nerve path to reduce tension along it.

3. Spinal Decompression Table To address disc involvement directly, our decompression table isolates the affected spinal level and rhythmically opens and closes the joint space — decompressing the disc, releasing surrounding muscles, ligaments and joints, with simultaneous heat and vibration. For sciatic symptoms driven by disc pressure in the lower back, this is one of the most targeted approaches we use in practice.

Comment “decompression” below and our team will guide you through next steps to see if you’re eligible.

What actually happens after your first adjustment?

Most people notice an improvement immediately. Pressure reduces on the nervous system, range of motion improves, and muscles begin to release. This is the most common response we see in practice.

For others, there’s no immediate change, and that’s not a concern. Conditions that have developed over years or decades take time to respond. That’s why we focus on structured care plans rather than one-off appointments.

Sometimes, some people experience mild stiffness in the first 24 hours. This is a normal physiological response as the body adapts to changes in joint movement and nervous system function. It’s temporary, and most people report feeling significantly better shortly after.

Every person’s response is different. What matters is understanding what your body is telling you and having a clear plan from there.
