Making dandelion-infused oil! 🌼☀️

Did you know that dandelion flowers, leaves and roots are edible?

This misunderstood w**d actually has a variety of uses! The flowers can be eaten raw, added to salads and cakes, used to make a delicious jelly, and can also be used to make a variety of lotions, oils and tinctures. As an oil or lotion, it is said to be able to ease muscle aches and pains and Restless Leg Syndrome (even more so if it is added to a magnesium oil!)

The young leaves can be eaten raw, or the older leaves cooked just as you would any other leafy green vegetable. The roots can even be roasted like a carrot (after a thorough cleaning of course!)

Many of the plants we consider w**ds can actually be useful and beneficial. I love learning about new ways we can forage and use natural, plentiful ingredients around us for a more connected way of living.

Just remember though if you do forage for dandelions or any other plant material, be sure to do it in an area that hasn't been sprayed with pesticides or designated as another animal's toilet spot 😜

Some more info about our .in.bloom workshop on 10 September 2022. We can’t wait to welcome you all to this whole-day event, focusing on challenging limiting self-beliefs.

There are NO pre-requisites!
- You do not need to have tried yoga ever before
- You do not need to have tried journalling before either
- All we ask is that you come with an open mind, and a curiosity to explore and understand more about yourself

See above the break-down of our day (without giving too much away).

Our venue and workshop are intended to be accessible for all, however, there are activities based upon movement.

Bookings are currently open via the link in our bio, however, places are limited. We are aiming for an intimate workshop so that you have a supported experience.

Hello dear friends, Just a quick update to let you know that Term 2 holidays at the Creswick Neighbourhood Centre have begun, so human being yoga classes will be taking a short break for the next couple of weeks.

Our weekly classes will recommence at the Neighbourhood Centre from 6:30pm Wednesday 13 July 2022. Bookings are encouraged and can be made online at http://www.humanbeingyoga.com.au/classesevents.

Over the break, I will be recording some yoga nidra practices and other meditations for you to use at home. This can be a nice way of taking our yoga with us "off the mat" and into our daily lives, where the fruit of our yoga practice truly lies.

It has been a joy to meet you and to share in your yoga journey with you, and I look forward to seeing you in class when Term 3 begins.

Goodbye Autumn...hello Winter 🍂❄️

As the weather gets colder, it can be harder for us to sustain some of the practices that nurture our bodies and minds. Taking time to rest over the colder months can be very restorative, and it's okay if your yoga practice changes with the seasons - but good to remember that a dynamic yoga session is a great way to warm up too! 🧘🏼‍♀️

Come on down to the Creswick Neighbourhood Centre 6:30pm Wednesdays for some relaxing and uplifting hatha yoga. Beginners and non-beginners welcome 😊

Classes are $15 full-fee or $12 concession and run for 90 minutes, including 60 minutes of hatha-style asana (postures) + 30 minutes of meditation or pranayama (breathwork). Bookings encouraged (book at https://humanbeingyoga.setmore.com/) but walk-ins also welcome.

If you can, please BYO yoga mat and any additional equipment/props you like to use. There will also be a small number of spare mats, bolsters, blocks, straps and blankets for use at class.

Hello and welcome! My name is Rebecca (she/her) and I am based in Creswick (Dja Dja Wurrung Country) near Ballarat/Daylesford.

Like many others, my yoga journey began with a search for greater meaning in my life, which at the time was full of work, obligations, striving, "busy-ness", stress and attachment. Yoga has helped me to find peace, stillness and joy and I'd like it to help you too!

Yoga is for all human beings, of all ages, bodies and experience/ability levels. With small class sizes, human being yoga is body positive, LGBTQIA+ friendly, and is structured to provide more than just physical fitness. Classes incorporate hatha-based asana practice tailored to your requirements and level of comfort, plus meditation, chanting and kirtan to create a holistic yoga experience.

I also understand that students want different things out of a class. That’s why in my classes, verbal and physical adjustments are opt-in only. This means that you do not receive any kind of adjustment unless you expressly tell me that you want one (indicated with the use of a visual card you can place on your mat at each class).

I am a registered Yoga Australia Teacher and am also accredited in first aid (including mental health first aid).
