This is how I get ready for work... Breakfast and a quick rock-'n'-roll sesh in the lounge room... Thanks to my boyfriend for letting me borrow his electric guitar to quickly learn a song for a client 😜

What happens when music meets therapy? When a registered music therapist is involved, life changes can happen. This World Music Therapy Week, tune in for stories about the impact of music therapy. If you're just learning about music therapy, here's a warm-up:

🎶 Music therapy is evidence-based, and its body of research continues to grow.

🎹 It's provided by allied health professionals who are uniquely qualified to use music as a therapeutic intervention.

🎤 It's regulated by the Australian Music Therapy Association, a member of Allied Health Professions Australia and National Alliance of Self Regulating Health Professions

🎸People of all ages, abilities and backgrounds benefit from music therapy.

🥁 Music therapy is an NDIS-funded support and part of several government-funded programs.

🎺 You'll find registered music therapists in hospitals, clinics, schools, prisons, community centres and working with other allied health professionals like speech pathologists, occupationsl therapists, physiotherapists and more.

Ready to start singing from AMTA's song sheet? Visit our website to learn more about how registered music therapists change lives.

One of my favourites, Cacao and Sound, a beautiful, relaxing way to come together as a community and return to the heart space 💞
Sunday 13th April 😊 come and join us

Each cacao brew is made just hours before our ceremony, in a sacred space, with the energy of each individual in the group that is coming in mind. During the process various ingredients will be included or omitted depending on what is required. One of the two main flavours that comes through in a brew are the sweet flavour, this helps help ground and nourish your spirit, and the bitter flavour which when ingested stimulates the bitter tastes receptors on the sides of your tongue. These receptors are connected to your vagus nerve. When this nerve is stimulated it can lead to a number of positive effects like calming the nervous system and supporting digestion. There are many physical, emotional, mental and spiritual benefits to cacao and sound ceremonies, including of course the deliciousness! DM us for more info or help booking into our next ceremony, love Odonata x

Whether you're a beginner or a professional, we are about making music as a community and having fun. No expectations, no judgements, just a passion for music and sharing.

Let's come together and make music 😊 bring your instrument, voice and choice of song. We will start the night off with some old school classics, you can play along, sing along, shake, drum, listen or even dance along.

There will be instruments to choose from if you don't own one. We will end the night with a relaxing sound meditation.

The beginning

Intuitive Music Therapy provides a safe, therapeutic environment allowing individuals to access and express their innate musical being. Renée ensures individuals feel supported to self express through music and music related activities by intuitively meeting clients where they are at in the present moment. These activities focus on developing non-musical related goals to enhance day-to-day living.

Based in the Sutherland Shire, Renée has been a professional musician for over 10 years. After completing her Master's in Creative Music Therapy at the end of 2018, Renée has decided to continue sharing her creative music expertise with the world whilst passionately incorporating her interpersonal and intuitive skills to help others.

Renée has a wide range of experience working with children and adults with disabilities alongside professional Registered Music Therapists and Allied Health Practitioners. As a Registered Music Therapist, Renée is dedicated to contributing to her local community to create a safe Music Therapy space for children, adults and elderly with a wide range of abilities.
