I reckon, with hindsight that John Howard PM, fu**ed modern Australia.
1. He encouraged Lebanese emigrants. Good idea at the time, but he filled our country with selfish f**kwits.
What today we call, bad head lebos. Bad boys and girls.
2. His taxation decision, negative gearing et al has brought us to a housing crisis.
3. His changes to labor laws, that seemed good at the time but have made workers powerlessness . Essential workers can’t afford homes.

Australia Day discussion.
Do you think this might fix the ongoing drama?

1. Keep the 26/1 as a day for our indigenous mates to grieve for what was lost. And for us to recognise the loss of their land to the British invaders. The British Crown used this place as a dumping ground for their unwanted trash.
Colonialism is a past thing. It happened. That was the way the world worked back then. Truth is painful.
We need to recognise past mistakes.
We didn’t do it. If we don’t move forward then we go backwards.
But we are all responsible for how we move forward.

2. Make the 27th another public holiday. To celebrate the birth of a new nation. I know we didn’t become a nation till 1 January 1901.
But we can’t do a public holiday then. All ready sorted.

3. We became something so precious. A land filled with all the various people from all the lands on earth. A welcoming place free from the strife of the old world. Where everyone gets to start again.

3. New national anthem. I suggest- “We are one but we are many “ By the Seekers. Makes my hair stand on end. (Best version is by the Bushwackers).

I’d love a double public holiday. It could be a chance to grieve for the old and embrace the new.

I’m thinking about the events, violence in the Gaza Strip.
I just want to make clear that I think the loss of life is abhorrent.

HOWEVER. When a society is forced to live in a ghetto, suffers the worst child mortality, and 50% are below the poverty line. Then something is going to snap. If you are backed into a corner do you roll over and die? Or do you come out fighting for you kids lives and future.
Would any Aussie allow themselves to be subjected to this?.
I say NO.
Id kick and scream and kill, rather than see the next generation of kids be abused.
No wonder things got bad.
However Iran has bloody hands in this.

Bulk billing, and the lies and political white anting of our medical system.Thank heavens those LibNat pricks didn’t get more time in power.
