Lyn Wetzig's Whole of Life Nutrition

Lyn Wetzig's Whole of Life Nutrition Nutrition for the whole of your life, for your whole life....is a holistic approach to nutrition. Herbs are a powerful adjunct to nutrition.

Holistic nutrition focuses on a natural approach to developing a healthy diet, considering the individual as a whole, not just as a symptom or disease, and considering all aspects of their life in looking for the root cause. This natural approach includes spiritual, emotional as well as physical to create a state of well-being for optimum health. The goal of holistic nutrition is to facilitate a health recovery plan as well as to build a strong foundation for optimum health. To do this, a holistic diet is developed that incorporates natural and organic foods, natural holistic supplements and food treatments for chronic health conditions. One of the major obstacles to eating well in our timestarved world seems to be having the time to shop, prepare and cook good food. We will help you find simple solutions and ways to prepare healthy meals quickly for yourself and your family. Lyn graduated from the Australian College of Natural Medicine (now Endeavour College of Natural Health) in 2008 with a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine) and received the Award for Excellence in Clinical Practice. She holds an Advanced Diploma in Western Herbal Medicine from the Australian Institute of Applied Science, has also completed a Certificate III/IV Fitness, and a Certificate II Kitchen Operations. Lyn is a Fellow of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS)

Making a comfrey salve… useful for scars, muscle and joint pain, and wound healing. Comfrey contains Allatoin which accelerates tissue regeneration; rosmarinic acid acting as an anti inflammatory, mucilage which helps soothe irritated skin and tannins which helps to tighten tissues and stop bleeding. Use for small areas of the skin for shorter periods of time on minor cuts, scrapes or bruises .

Caution: do not use on deep wounds as the rapid cell regeneration can cause the outer tissues to heal faster than the deeper layers, trapping bacteria.

A sleepless night with a scratchy throat and cough. I went out this morning to my backyard and cut ribwort (plantago lanceolata) and then to the herb patch and picked a little lemon balm, lemon thyme and a couple of echinacea leaves. I let it boil while listening to healing Scriptures and the ANZAC day flyover. Strained and 1:1 sugar added, a teaspoon of lemon syrup made previously and now it’s cooling.
Praise God for His Word and His provision of healing plants. God wants us well!!

WHAT GIVETH A BUZZ TAKETH AWAY NUTRIENTS
Here's how we toast while retaining the most.

1. Supplement nutrients alcohol steals, like B vitamins and the minerals selenium, zinc, and magnesium.
2. Champagne grapes contain polyphenols, which act as antioxidants and confer other health benefits.
3. Look for champagne labeled “Ultra Brut” which contains no added sugar that can interfere with nutrient absorption.
4. Take a vitamin C supplement as some studies say vitamin C enhances alcohol excretion.
5. Whenever your liver has to work harder to remove substances, it uses a lot of glutathione. So, take a glutathione supplement or up your cysteine intake with cruciferous veggies, eggs, meat, and dairy.
6. Make a non-alcoholic “champagne” with club soda and grape juice.
Don't start 2025 depleted. Choose the supplements your cells love to absorb.
