It’s the Persian New Year. The earth has completed its annual journey and the Northern spring solstice, the vernal equinox is upon us. Since time immemorial before recorded history began, People of Greater Iran, beyond the Iranian plateau, that stretches from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan to the river Sind including modern Afghanistan and most of Pakistan, the Persian Gulf, to the banks of Euphrates and as North as Armenia and Georgia have celebrated the revival of life and spring as the start of the new year, all the way to SriLanka. Perhaps no symbolic historical celebration symbolizes Iranian beliefs of peace, love, harmony with nature and revitalization more succinctly. It is a poignant reminder of the values and history that people of these lands all share, of our common roots rather than our differences. I wish you all a wonderful new year ahead. Here are a few lines of poetry about nowruz written by the great Ferdowsi over 1000 years ago. The haft (7) sin (s) is a traditional spread that symbolises this rebirth. With each item depicting a symbol, health, prosperity, God, happiness and so forth so happy new year.
چو خورشيد تابان ميان هوا
نشسته بر او شاه فرمانروا
The sun shined brightly. The King upon his throne
جهان انجمن شد بر ان تخت او

Silicone implants have been around since the 1960s. This is when a chemical company called Dow Corning- also responsible for agent Orange- found this medical use for it. The current generation of Silicone implants have been around since 1993 (Gen V). Despite being sturdy, they still fail from time to time and can leak. Often this leak is within the capsule of the breast implant pocket. They require screening and when ruptured should ideally be removed or exchanged. Here you can see a ruptured textured anatomical shaped PIP implant( withdrawn from the markets over a decade ago) and simple smooth implant. Both ruptured and unruptured implants can be seen side by side.
