Need help understanding the NDIS?

Register for one of our courses, run by an experienced Support Coordinator.

In October, we're offering the following options. They are running on October 28th, so you can come to one, two, or all three. We are located centrally in Croydon, Victoria. All classes are capped at 4 participants to make sure we can answer your individual questions.

Preparing for Plan Meetings (9.30-11.00)
Do you have a plan review meeting coming up? Are you unsure about how to get the most out of it, or what you should be doing to prepare? This is the session for you!

Setting NDIS goals (11.15-12.45)
Would you like to set meaningful goals that are also in 'NDIS speak'? Are you concerned your NDIS goals aren't aligned with the funding you need? You will leave this session with meaningful, personalized NDIS goals written and ready to go.

Gathering Evidence for the NDIS (1.15-2.45)
Whether you are trying to access the NDIS or going into a planning meeting, the most important tool you can use is evidence. This includes reports from allied health providers but also less well-known options like treatment diaries. If you want to learn how to put your best foot forward with the NDIS, this is the course for you.

If you're interested in any of these options, you can drop us a line via messenger, give us a call on (03 8736 1705), or email us at cassandra@yournextsteps.co.

WIP Night is here!

WIP stands for work in progress and if you're anything like us you've got a few of them sitting around the house 😆

Join us any time from 5-9PM Mondays. Bring along your WIPs and enjoy low-demand connection with other neurodivergent adults in Croydon.

This is a low-cost event, with a flat fee of $20 per session. If you have a NDIS plan, you may be able to use your NDIS funding. Light refreshments are provided.

There are limited places to keep the group relaxed, so get in touch if you're interested!

Tiffany Westphal is presenting at this free online webinar for Down Syndrome Australia.

An online session to help you better understand why your child doesn’t want to go to school.

Monday 14 October 2024, 8:00pm to 9.30pm (VIC)

Register to attend.

About the event

Join us for an online session to help you better understand why your child doesn’t want to go to school.

This is for parents and carers of school aged children with disability.

PARTICIPANTS WILL GAIN KNOWLEDGE ABOUT:

• why it’s appropriate that we reframe ‘school refusal’ as ‘school can’t’

• using language carefully when talking about it

• the autonomic nervous system

• why it’s important that in responding to those experiencing ‘school can’t’ we seek to identify stressors and barriers to attendance

• how to respond to those stressors and barriers.
