ANZAC Day is a time to reflect on the bravery of the men and women who gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy today. It is also a time to acknowledge the stories, memories, and experiences shared by many of our own residents, whose lives have been touched by war, service, and resilience.

As a community, we stand together in gratitude and remembrance. Jane led our service today with residents making their own wreaths in the lead up to today.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,
We will remember them.

At Donwood Community Aged Care Services, the Social Support Program helps people stay active, engaged, and socially connected while also giving carers valuable respite and peace of mind.
The program offers:
• Social interaction and friendship
• Mental and physical stimulation
• Music, games, cooking, and group activities
• Bus trips and outings
• Guest speakers and special events
• Memory support programs
• Physiotherapy and group exercise sessions
• Access to qualified staff and caring volunteers

Easter at Donwood – A Message of Hope, Comfort & Freedom

Over the Easter period, our Donwood community came together to reflect, remember, and celebrate.

Easter reminds us that a lot can happen in three days…
From darkness to light, from uncertainty to hope, from sorrow to renewal.

Through shared stories, a touch of humour, moments of history, and heartfelt reflection, we were reminded of the power of community and the strength we find in one another.

For many, Easter is a time of deep meaning. A time to pause, to honour the journey, and to embrace the promise of new beginnings.

At Donwood, we are grateful to walk this journey together supporting each other, sharing memories, and creating moments that bring comfort, connection, and joy.

May this Easter season leave you with a sense of peace, renewed hope, and the gentle reminder that even in life’s hardest moments… beautiful change is possible.
