Over the weekend, Veronica (our Cosmetic Patient Coordinator) joined Dr Hamilton at the ASAPS Aesthetic Conference in Sydney, alongside over 400 plastic surgeons, nurses and patient coordinators from Australia and overseas.

Dr Hamilton attended several specialised masterclasses, including:
• Breast Augmentation & Breast Lift
• Face Lift & Neck Lift
• Breast Ultrasound (on the final day)

There were guest speakers from Australia, Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom sharing recent developments and clinical insights. One noteworthy presentation discussed a new Polytechnic Lite breast implant, which is approximately 40% lighter than conventional silicone implants.

Conferences like this provide an important opportunity for continuous learning, keeping up with advances in aesthetic plastic surgery, and exchanging ideas with colleagues across the field.

Dr Hamilton and Veronica were thrilled to visit Dr Lajevardi's Cosmex Practice in Sydney.

At Hamilton House we have a monthly QA Meeting which is chaired by Dr Hamilton. It helps us keep on top of everything we need to do to maintain both quality and safety for our patients and for National Accreditation with NSQHS / ACHS and International Accreditation with QuADA. All staff attend the meeting and have roles of Officers of the QA Committee.

We are proud to have formally obtained our QUAD A Accreditation Certificate.

We just planted a Satsumu plum tree in the rear garden at HH. We had an old one maybe 50 years of age that used to give bountifully for delicious stewed plums and plum jam but sadly died the other year from old age. Hoping that the new plum tree will be as fruitful over the years ahead. Staff are excited!

Spring in the Hamilton House Garden

The garden is waking up after winter, with new life and colour emerging everywhere. The roses, freshly pruned, are bursting into leaf and the first blooms are just beginning to appear.

Bright geraniums continue to thrive, adding splashes of colour under the Weeping Mulberry and in the beds outside Theatre. Meanwhile, the last mandarins are slowly ripening on the citrus trees, a final taste of winter before the abundance of spring takes over.

It’s a wonderful time of year in the garden, with the promise of vibrant growth and blossoms ahead. 🌿🌹🍊

Last Friday, Hamilton House Day Surgery successfully completed its triennial accreditation survey with the American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Facilities International (QuADA). We are proud to share that we passed with flying colours, securing not only National Accreditation but also International Accreditation—making Hamilton House the only Day Surgery in Australia and New Zealand to achieve this distinction.

Hamilton House has proudly held QuADA accreditation since 2009, alongside continuous accreditation from the Australian NSQHS standards since 1998.

This year’s survey was conducted by highly experienced QuADA Surveyor, Lisa Siebert RN, who carried out a thorough assessment of every aspect of our quality and safety systems. The process is rigorous, requiring compliance with several hundred criteria across all standards. We are delighted to report that Hamilton House met every requirement, with no deficiencies identified.

Lisa shared her reflections following the visit:

“Thank you Dr Hamilton for the great day. I continue to be so impressed with your practice Hamilton House Plastic Surgery and felt especially privileged to see your Quality Activities meeting. So very beneficial to engage your staff in all aspects of the clinic.

Your efforts at ticking the boxes and satisfying all the standards certainly reflect your concern for patient safety, and again, very impressive! We at QuADA are very proud to accredit your beautiful Hamilton House facility, and it really is a great example to use as a safe and sanitary practice.”

We are grateful to Lisa for her generous words and to our entire team for their commitment to excellence. This achievement is another proud milestone in our ongoing mission to deliver the highest standard of care to every patient.

Carpal tunnel syndrome can vary in intensity. When conservative measures, such as splinting, prove to be ineffective, then surgical decompression of the median nerve, carpal tunnel release, is the most effective treatment option.

During a hand surgery consultation with Dr. Hamilton at our Adelaide or peripheral offices, patients will have their hand examined for strength, function and sensitivity to ensure a correct diagnosis. Sometimes testing is also arranged in the form of a nerve conduction study, which will usually indicate the presence of a nerve conduction block, significant in carpal tunnel syndrome. After a thorough diagnostic session, Dr. Hamilton may recommend a procedure known as carpal tunnel release.
