🤧 How Long Do Colds Last? 🤧

Caught a cold? You’re not alone! Most colds last about 7 to 10 days, but everyone’s body reacts differently. Here’s what to expect:

🌟 Days 1–3: Runny nose, sore throat, and sneezing kick in
🌟 Days 4–7: Congestion and coughing may peak
🌟 Days 8–10: Symptoms start to ease, though a lingering cough can stick around

Remember, rest, hydration, and good nutrition are your best friends while your body fights it off.

If symptoms last longer than two weeks or worsen, it’s time to check in with your healthcare provider.

Stay cozy and take care! 💙✨

Taking a break from makeup isn’t just about feeling more natural—it’s great for your skin too!

Here’s why giving your face a rest from makeup is beneficial:

- Skin Can Breathe: Makeup can clog pores and trap bacteria, leading to breakouts and dull skin. Going makeup-free gives your skin a chance to breathe, helping to maintain a healthier complexion.
- Prevents Skin Irritation: Long-term use of makeup, especially if it's not removed properly, can lead to irritation and sensitivity. Without makeup, your skin can heal and recover from the stress of daily products.
- Lets Your Skin Repair: Makeup can sometimes prevent your skin from regenerating properly. A makeup-free day gives your skin the time it needs to repair and regenerate its natural barrier.

Consider introducing a few makeup-free days every now and again and your skin will thank you for it!

✨🎅 'Twas the night before Christmas and here in the heat,
The chemist was quiet—no rush on the street.
The scripts were all sorted, the shelves fully stocked,
The air-con was humming, the front door was locked.

I was ready for prawns and a cold, festive brew,
When who should appear? Yep, Santa came through!
His voice was all croaky, his throat red and sore,
So I grabbed a lozenge and offered him more.

"Here’s some honey and tea, and this’ll help too,
Rest up and hydrate—you’ve presents to do!“
Santa looked better, and as he took flight,
He called out, "Thanks, mate, for saving tonight!“

To all my customers, near and afar,
Merry Christmas from me, your pharmacy star.
Stay safe in the sun and please don’t forget,
If you need some advice, I’ll be here—no sweat!🎄☀️

Merry Christmas! Stay cool and take care! 🌊🎁

It’s time to be honest .. when was the last time you cleaned your drink bottle?

We all love our reusable drink bottles, but did you know they need a good clean every day? 🧼🚰

Even if it’s just water, bacteria can build up quickly, leading to unpleasant odours and health risks.

Here are some tips for keeping your bottle fresh:
💧 Wash with warm, soapy water daily.
💧 Use a bottle brush to reach all the nooks and crannies.
💧 Let it air dry completely before your next use.

Keep your bottle (and you!) healthy by making daily cleaning part of your routine!

Mouth Ulcers 😣

Mouth ulcers are small, painful sores that can appear inside your mouth—on the gums, inner cheeks or tongue.

They often appear due to stress, injury, certain foods or a weakened immune system. While they can be uncomfortable, they’re usually harmless and tend to heal on their own within a week or two.

Here are a few ways to manage the pain and speed up healing:
- Use an over-the-counter oral gel or rinse to numb the area and reduce inflammation.
- Rinse your mouth with a saltwater solution to keep the sore clean.
- Avoid spicy, acidic or rough foods that can irritate the ulcer.
- Stay hydrated and maintain good oral hygiene.

If your mouth ulcer lasts more than two weeks, is particularly large or keeps recurring, it’s a good idea to check with your doctor or dentist for further advice.

Feel free to drop by the pharmacy if you need more tips or product recommendations!

👩‍🦳 Thinking of plucking that grey hair? Think again! 🚫

Plucking can actually damage your hair follicles, leading to weaker regrowth or even no regrowth at all. Plus, for every hair you pluck, there's a good chance another one will take its place.

Embrace your natural beauty, and remember, grey hair is a sign of wisdom and experience!

🌙 Thinking of Snacking Before Bed? Consider This! 🌙

We all love a little bedtime snack, but did you know that some foods might disrupt your sleep? 😴

Here are a few to consider skipping:
🚫 Spicy Foods: They can cause heartburn and discomfort, making it harder to relax.
🚫 Caffeine: Found in coffee, tea and chocolate, it can keep you wired when you should be winding down.
🚫 High-Sugar Treats: They can lead to energy spikes and crashes, disrupting your sleep cycle.
🚫 Fatty or Fried Foods: These can be heavy on your stomach, making it uncomfortable to lie down.

For a better night's sleep, try opting for lighter, easier-to-digest snacks like a small bowl of yoghurt, a piece of fruit or some whole-grain crackers with cheese. Your body will thank you! 💤

How is your self-care routine going?

It's crucial to prioritise some key aspects of self-care in our daily lives. Taking care of ourselves isn't just a luxury; it's a necessity for our overall well-being! Here's why:

💤 Sleep: Essential for physical health, mental clarity, and emotional balance.
🥗 Healthy Eating: Fuels our bodies and minds with the nutrients needed to thrive.
💧 Hydration: Vital for almost every bodily function, from regulating temperature to aiding digestion.
🏃‍♀️ Exercise: Boosts mood, reduces stress, enhances sleep quality and improves cognitive function.
🧘‍♂️ Meditation: Reduces stress, increases self-awareness and promotes emotional balance.

By prioritising sleep, healthy eating, hydration, exercise and meditation in our daily routines, we're not only investing in our physical health but also nurturing our mental and emotional well-being.

Want to give your immune system a helping hand? Say goodbye to that pesky mucus with the power of food! Here are some tasty treats that can help clear out congestion:

🍋 Citrus Fruits: Load up on oranges, lemons and grapefruits! Their high vitamin C content helps break down mucus and supports your immune system.

🫚 Ginger: Spice things up with ginger! Whether in tea or stir-fries, ginger's anti-inflammatory properties can soothe throat irritation and reduce mucus buildup.

🧄 Garlic: Not just for repelling vampires! Garlic is a natural decongestant and has antimicrobial properties to help fight off infections.

🍯 Honey: Honey soothes irritated throats and its antimicrobial properties can help clear up respiratory infections.

Remember to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and herbal teas, and consider avoiding dairy products, which can contribute to mucus production in some people!
