Losing weight is one thing but have you noticed that keeping it off is a whole other challenge?! Research shows that by five years most people regain up to 80% of lost weight.

But… that doesn’t mean it’s impossible! Those who are successful in maintaining long-term weight loss do this by building long-term habits that support their goals.

I thought I’d share some evidence-based strategies that can really help your chances of keeping the weight off. These 4 strategies are the exact things I do myself and I've been maintaining my own weight loss for nearly a decade.

Daily movement – Regular exercise (even just walking) helps maintain weight loss. Activities like walking, strength training, or yoga not only burn calories but also boost metabolism.

Mindful Eating Habits - Paying close attention to what and how much you eat can prevent overeating. Keeping a food diary or using tracking apps can help monitor intake and make informed food choices.

Self-monitoring – Studies have shown that people who weigh themselves at least once a week are more successful in maintaining weight loss.

Good sleep & stress management – Poor sleep and high stress make it easier to fall back into old habits.

For the sake of your health and happiness please take 2 minutes to read this post.

How many times have you tried a new diet, only to find yourself back at square one a few weeks or months later? It's such a frustrating cycle, but it's not because you lack willpower or discipline. Weight issues are about so much more than that!

In a nut shell, diets are designed to be short-term. That’s why they fail at giving us long term results. They're often overly restrictive and unsustainable, which is why you can't maintain them in the long run. They don't address any of the complex issues that contribute to living in an overweight body.

Real, lasting weight loss comes from a sustainable plan that fits into your life not one that takes away everything you enjoy. You need a plan that you can maintain in the long term, one that becomes a part of your lifestyle, not just a temporary fix.

You deserve to be happy, so, instead of trying another quick fix, let's focus on building healthy habits that will last a lifetime.
