✨ Summer Smoothies, Seed Cycling & TCM Digestion Wisdom ✨
Yes… summer is here, and if your digestion is strong, a smoothie can be such a beautiful way to get your five serves of fruit in for the day.
In Chinese medicine, summer is the season of warmth, expansion, joy, and the Fire element. Our bodies naturally crave foods that are cooling, hydrating, and high in water content — and fruit fits this perfectly.
This is why smoothies can feel so nourishing during summer: they help replenish fluids, yin, and hydration when the weather is hot and our qi is moving more outward.
I’ve always loved adding seeds to my smoothies for the extra nutrients, and I’m honestly obsessed with the Seed Cycle Phase 1 & Phase 2 mixes right now. They make it so easy to give your body the exact support it needs at each stage of your menstrual cycle. 🌙✨
The packaging explains everything — you literally just add the mix to your blender and let it do its thing.
I’m time-poor, so I freeze my fruit ahead of time. Then it’s as simple as grabbing everything from the freezer, popping it in the blender, and 50 seconds later I have a smoothie. I pour it into a take-away bottle and off to work I go. Easy, nourishing, done. ✔️
Because I have weaker digestion, I usually let my smoothie come closer to room temperature before drinking — a TCM tip to avoid shocking the Spleen with too much cold, even in summer. It’s been the perfect mid-morning snack after a warm breakfast.
Lately I’ve been loving conjo congee to start my day — the ultimate gut-loving, hormone-supporting warm bowl. 🥣💛
Summer + seasonal eating + cycle syncing = such a gorgeous combination for hormone health.
