Cancer Journal of Justine Zimmermann A journey never travelled so don't know what to experience or expect.

Hello Friend's 😁
Good news!! No chemotherapy needed. Had my post op appointment yesterday afternoon & surgeon is very happy with everything.
I'm glad the tumour was found when it was & as a result I've avoided a more sinister outcome.
The tumour was 7.5cm but hadn't spread to any lymphnodes & was a grade 2 πŸ˜ƒ
I'll need a follow-up colonoscopy in about a month's time just to make sure everything else is ok, a blood test done to monitor cancer cells & a CT Scan later in the year.
I can't give enough credit to my amazing Doctor, Dr Jim.
All this started because I had a stitch like pain in my right side & just felt off.
Blood tests came back showing a low B12. On my mum's side of the family tree there is a B12 deficiency, Pernicious Anaemia. Even knowing this Dr Jim wasn't satisfied & did further investigations & I'm so glad he did!!
It's been a bit of a rough time in places & I'm so thankful for the care I received from my girls, Sharleene & Jasmin & my bestie Liz. I'm also greatful for the beautiful friends that I have in my world for your love, support, gifts, messages & keeping me smiling. Its been a team effort & what a great team we are 😁πŸ’ͺ
Thank you for following me on this little journey. It's been a memorable one & a new collection of scars to add to the rest. I wear each & every one proudly because it means I've survived. 😊
Now I can go back to work 🀩

Had a lovely visit from a very dear friend, Sheryl. It was so nice to sit & chat while eating banana bread that Sheryl brought along. My own special money tree & another beautiful card with some πŸ’Έ. Thank you for brightening my day πŸ₯°πŸ’‹

Also received a text for my post op appointment. Bit further away than what I had anticipated but it is made & I'll be there. Hopefully that'll be the end of this chapter for a while 🀞🀞

Hello Friend's
Was a lovely day with two beautiful visitors.
Bridie popped in for a catch-up & brought me some beautiful flowers. Was so lovely chatting with her & seeing her.
Selena popped in on her way to the Sunshine Coast & gave me a beautiful card & a gift card. Thank you so much Selena, the gift card has gone onto some bills that I had been stressing over & wondering how I'd get them paid.
Recovery is going well. Still experiencing some pain & discomfort but feeling well otherwise.
I saw my GP last Thursday as the incision in my belly button is quite sore so just wanted it checked out.
My surgery results were there on their system. As I hadn't been told anything about my surgery & findings, it was great to hear something from it all.
The tumour was 7.5cms in size & pathology has come back saying its a low grade tumour, which is awesome πŸ˜ƒ
I've still not had a follow-up appointment with RBWH & my GP couldn't advise if Chemo is still a possibility or not. I'm thinking that I won't need Chemo & keeping that positive thought until I know otherwise.
My daughter Sharleene is still here with me & is just a gem in all that she's doing for me. My bestest friend Liz is also helping out with cleaning, helping out with my poodles & trying to keep me out of trouble 😁
So really, all I need to do is concentrate on me & get well again.

Hello friends.
After an absolute brutal night of constipation to the maximus I'm pleased to say I've turned a corner & feeling a lot more comfortable.
To add pizazz to my wrecking ball sized tummy & scars that look like they've come from a dexter episode, my paper Un**es are a definite requirement for this entire journey πŸ˜‚
My hair not brushed for days & I'm certainly able to pull off the messy bun like the true diva I am.
Eldest daughter, Sharleene is my own personal chef serving up pumpkin soup, icecream, flavoured icecream, youguhrts of all different flavours & textures. She's also doing a magnificent job looking after my little noodles & maintaining a lovely clean home. πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€

This little boy deserves the biggest cuddles & thousands of kisses.
My first night home from hospital has been quite a painful experience when going to the loo. Yet through all the trembling & yelling of pain this boy has sat by throughout & not leaving my side. You Freddie Rockstar are my Rockstar πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

I'm home 😁🐾🐾πŸ₯°
It's been quite the day but glad the sun is settling on my being home.
Looking forward to a good night sleep with my squad, having something other than jelly to eat & lying in bed watching a movie with my marvellous poodles.
I'm a bit exhausted so grateful for my amazing daughters who have kept the show on the road with my poodles & little Freckles.
I've ordered scrambled eggs on toast with icecream to follow.
Sleep will be amazing tonight 😴😁

Update post:
Sharleene here visiting mum. She's more lively today and I was able to wheel her outside for some fresh air. Catheter still in but hoping to have it removed in the morning tomorrow. Dinner tonight is ice cream, green jelly, yoghurt, apple juice and a coffee flavoured breaka. Shes very much wanting to come home and is a bit bored and restless as there's no remote for her TV and her tablet isn't loading shows and movies well enough for her.

Sending her everyone's love for a speedy recovery πŸ’πŸŒ»

Update post
Daughter Jasmin here

Mums doing OK, she's mainly sleeping
She was up and about for a few minutes today with the physio, still on the clear fluids for the time being.
Finally saw the Dr and he's happy with her recovery so far

Keep sending those good vibes her way everyone πŸ’—

Update post:
Sharleene here. At the hospital with mum today visiting with Liz. Not a good day today.

Feeling really unwell and tired.

Yesterday she got up and outside and had some yummy meals but today we're back on just water as her bowel is resting and her stomach is in a sleeping state of sorts which is common after a surgery like hers. So lots of sleep today and just myself and Liz beside her as she rests.
πŸ’πŸ’

Sending all your love and strength to her.
