🌟 Movember Reminder! 🌟

Team Dalby Allied Health is still raising funds (and lifting our heart rates) for men’s health! 💪🧔✨

This year’s deal is simple: every $1 donated = 1 calorie burned by us.
So the more you give… the more we sweat. 😅🔥

Your support goes toward men’s mental health, su***de prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer — all incredibly important causes.

Plus, our in-house Movember Team Challenge is on! Choose your fighters and donate below (check out our latest Movember post if you're unsure):

What is Creative Arts Therapy (CAT)? As promised, here’s some more information:

Creative Arts Therapy (CAT) is a form of counselling and psychotherapy facilitated by a masters qualified and professionally licensed art therapist through ANZACATA (ANZACATA - Home).

CAT uses creative expression, materials, multiple modalities* and the relationship between client and therapist to support the exploration of emotional and social needs impacting thoughts, feelings, emotions, reactions, responses and relationships with ourselves and others.

*Things you may engage with in a CAT session (this is not an exhaustive list):
🎨Clay work
🎨Collage
🎨Dance and movement
🎨Drama, acting, and role play (including toys, puppets, etc.)
🎨Drawing (pens, pencils, markers, pastels, charcoal)
🎨Food-based activities
🎨Games
🎨Mixed media
🎨Music and singing
🎨Nature-based engagement
🎨Painting (acrylic, watercolour)
🎨Photography and digital art
🎨Sculpture (including Lego/blocks)
🎨Writing (poetry, song writing, journaling, short stories)

If you’d like to learn more about Creative Arts Therapy or book a session with our therapist, please contact us on 4662 0459, we’d be happy to help!

Furthermore, keep an eye out for additional information on CAT (including its origins), which will be shared in the coming weeks.

💙 What an incredible few days at Cattle Connect 2025! 🐮

Our Physiotherapist (Tim) and Dietitian (Jane) were proud to be part of Cattle Connect 2025 alongside Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds and TIACS Australia, offering health screenings and education to the amazing people who keep our rural industries strong.

It was fantastic to connect with attendees, have meaningful conversations about health and wellbeing, and be part of an event that truly values community care.

A huge thank you to Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds and TIACS for the incredible work they do in supporting mental health and wellbeing across rural and remote Australia. Their commitment to breaking the stigma, starting conversations, and providing support is making a genuine difference in the lives of so many.

And of course, thank you to everyone who stopped by for a check-up or a chat.

Until next time — stay healthy, stay connected, and take care of yourself and each other. 💪

🎉Congratulations Shelley 👏

Big cheers for Shelley, our incredible Art Therapy student, who’s wrapping up her placement with us! We’ve been so lucky to witness her creativity, compassion, and connection in action—and the best part? Shelley will be continuing with us next year as a fully qualified Art Therapist! 💫 We’re thrilled to have her on the team.

During her placement with us, Shelley created a book showcasing the role of Art Therapy within our team. It’s available to read at our Eileen Street clinic.📖

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more information about Art Therapy and its amazing benefits. If you’re interested in booking an Art Therapy session with Shelley, please contact us on 4662 0459 to discuss further details. 🎭🎨🎆

🌟 Movember is here! 🌟

Our team at Dalby Allied Health have kicked things off fresh-faced, shaving their moustaches and starting from scratch for a great cause! 👨🏻‍🦱💙

The Movember cause shines a spotlight on men’s health, supporting mental health, su***de prevention, and research into prostate and testicular cancer. Every mo’ and every donation makes a real difference.

We’ve got two teams taking on the challenge this year:
👨‍🦰 Team Josh, Dan, Tim & Kendall – donate here: https://movember.com/t/dalby-allied-health?mc=1
👨‍🦱 Team Andrew – donate here: https://movember.com/m/15402236?mc=1

Check out our latest Movember post if you're unsure which team to donate to. Let’s unite to support the men in our lives. 💪

💙OT Week 2025 (27 October – 2 November)💙

This week we're celebrating the vital work of our occupational therapists, and this year’s theme is “Occupational Therapy in Action.”

The theme recognises the creativity, compassion, and problem-solving that OTs demonstrate every day as they help people engage in the activities that bring meaning and purpose to their lives.

Here’s a glimpse of our dedicated OTs in action - empowering individuals, supporting independence, and making a difference across our community.

Dalby Allied Health is stepping up for men’s health this Movember — and we need YOU!

Movember is an annual event where people grow moustaches during November to raise awareness of important men’s health issues, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s su***de.

Here’s how we’re joining the movement this year:
Should Andrew keep his beard, or should Andrew lose it?

If Andrew raises over $2,000 this November, the beard stays.

BUT if Josh, Dan, Tim, and Kendall raise over $2,000 together, Andrew’s beard is gone!

Choose your fighters and cast your vote with your donations! Every dollar raised supports the Movember cause.

But that’s not all!
Team Josh, Dan, Tim, and Kendall have taken on an extra challenge: they’ll burn as many calories as dollars raised by their team. If they raise $2,000, get ready to watch them crush a workout burning 2,000 calories!

Sounds like a challenge worth cheering and donating for, right?

Let’s come together to change the face of men’s health — one dollar, one Mo, one workout at a time.
