🌿 A Magical Day Exploring Byron & Beyond! ✨🌄
Our adventure began bright and early with everyone ready for our 8:30am pickup from Chris at Rise Up Conscious Tours. First stop: St Helena Lookout, where we captured stunning views over the Hinterlands and Byron Bay — the perfect way to start the day! 📸🌿
From there, we made our way back to Minyon Falls in the Gondwana Rainforest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This time, we took things slow, soaking in the breathtaking scenery while learning fascinating stories about the area’s history from our guide. A few brave participants even enjoyed a refreshing dip in the creek! 💧🌳
Next, we headed to the incredible Rainbow Temple, a spiritual and colourful site built gradually since 1981. Hidden beneath it was the legendary secret glow worm tunnel — hand‑built by the Temple’s owner and now home to glow worms and microbats.
The tunnel was narrow, dark, and definitely a challenge for some, but everyone pushed through with courage and care. Inside, we were rewarded with a truly magical sight — for many, a once‑in‑a‑lifetime moment. ✨🪱
(Meanwhile, staff member Peter discovered he’d been sharing his shoe with a leech for three hours… he was far less impressed by the wildlife than the rest of us! 🦶😅)
We wrapped up the tour with a delicious homemade vegetarian pasta lunch before returning to town for a treat stop: Butter Boy cookies, coffee, and milkshakes under shady trees overlooking the Pacific Ocean. 🌊🍪
An ibis even paid us a visit — and “blessed” staff member Arpit with an unexpected surprise right on the nose! The laughter was endless. 🐦🤣
Back at the apartment, some cooled off in the pool while others helped prepare dinner. The evening feast was DIY mini pizzas, salad, and garlic bread, followed by fruit and ice cream for dessert. 🍕🍨
It was an exhausting, rewarding, and completely unforgettable day — filled with courage, nature, laughter, and magical moments shared together. 💛✨
