We really enjoyed the Mexican food at Bodega Underground located in Little Bourke St.
There's a good range of agave and mezcal based cocktails. While I tried the spicy mezcal margarita, Sam tried the mezcal old fashioned. Good choices!
It's a small menu but has something for everyone including vegetarians and vegans (it's 100% gluten free too). Started with the totopos with guacamole which had so much flavour and texture. The Mexi cauliflower with guajillo and jala crema was another delight.
My favourite from the evening was the Kingfish Aguachile with Habanero, mango leche de tigre, avocado and served with tostadas.
The tacos were great especially the birria beef quesatacos served with a delicious consomme. The taco de Chicharron and Pescado were also really delicious. Ended the meal with some churros served with dulce le leche.
