✨ Shubh Diwali! ✨

This Festival of Lights, may your inner light shine brightly. Diwali is a beautiful time to connect with family, friends, and community. It's also a reminder to pause and light up the beautiful things within yourself: your resilience, your kindness, and your joy.

Take a moment amidst the celebrations and noise to just be. Whether it's a few deep breaths, a walk outside, or a heartfelt conversation, remember to care for your mental well-being.

Wishing all our young people and community members a safe, happy, and peaceful Diwali!

Happy headspace Day! 🎉

We had an amazing time at Lyndale Secondary College celebrating and supporting young people to "Make Space" for their mental well-being!

Students accepted the challenge in our headspace Day Game Zone, completing various well-being tasks—their "side quests"—to earn headspace Points. It was inspiring to see them dive into the activities, especially how much they enjoyed working together with their friends, offering support and encouragement for one another. That's what it's all about!

A massive thank you to Lyndale Secondary College for having us. Seeing the students leave with the headspace merch of their choice, smiling after a day focused on self-care and community, made it all worthwhile. We loved being able to support these awesome young people!

It's World Mental Health Day! 🌎 This year's theme, "Mental Health in Humanitarian Emergencies," is a crucial reminder that mental health care is essential, especially when disaster strikes.

During conflicts, natural disasters, and displacement, emotional distress and disrupted social ties are widespread. Mental health support is often forgotten, yet it's absolutely vital for recovery and resilience.

At headspace Dandenong, we believe mental health support should be available and accessible to all, no matter the circumstances.

If you are young person or parent/carer and need support please reach out to headspace Dandenong.

Wishing Dandenong a Bright & Mindful Dussehra!

Just like the story of Dussehra reminds us of the victory of good over evil, you have the strength to conquer the 'Ravan' of your own struggles—especially the worries and pressures that weigh on your mind.

It's okay not to be okay, and asking for help isn't a sign of weakness, it's a sign of true courage. Let this festival be a reminder that your inner light is always stronger than the darkness.

Reach out to a friend, family member, or professional if you're struggling. Your well-being is your victory.

September 10th is World Suicide Prevention Day, a time to come together and recommit to our shared goal of preventing suicide and spreading hope.

This year's theme, 'Changing the Narrative on Suicide,' challenges us to shift from silence and stigma to openness, empathy, and action. It’s a call to ensure those who are struggling feel heard, supported, and connected.

In Australia, suicide remains the leading cause of death among people aged 15–44. We know that behind every statistic is a story. By changing the conversation, we can help create a future where more lives are saved and more stories are shared.

If you or someone you know needs support, you can connect with headspace Dandenong, or other resources like Lifeline (13 11 14), Beyond Blue (1300 224 636), or the Suicide Call Back Service (1300 659 467).

In case of emergency please call 000 for assistance.
