Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are very common – particularly in women. The most common type of UTIs are bladder infections, also known as cystitis.
You might have a UTI if you have any of the following:
• experience discomfort while urinating
• have symptoms like blood, a foul odour, or pain during urination
• Constantly feel the urge to p*e but can never fully empty your bladder

✅ Minimise your risk with a few simple steps:
Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, don't hold in your urine when nature calls, and always remember to wipe from front to back after using the toilet.
💊 If you suspect a UTI, visiting your GP is usually the first step, as they can prescribe antibiotics that work quickly and effectively to treat the infection.
Women aged between 18 and 65, with symptoms of an uncomplicated UTI, may be able to access treatment from selected pharmacies. Talk to your friendly Capital Chemist pharmacist today.

Are you eligible for The National Diabetes Services Scheme?
The National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) provides a range of services to help you manage your diabetes. These include NDSS products including blood glucose testing strips, needles and pen tips, and insulin pump consumables; most diabetes-related supplies are either free or heavily subsidised to patients registered with the NDSS.
There are limits to what can be supplied, who can be supplied and the amounts of products that can be supplied; your Capital Chemist Dapto pharmacist can help guide you through the process.
The NDSS is an initiative of the Australian Government. Registration with the NDSS is free and open to all Australians who are diagnosed with diabetes.
To access the NDSS through your pharmacy you will need to be registered with the NDSS and show either your NDSS membership card or your Medicare card. Your GP or diabetes educator can enroll you in the NDSS once you have a confirmed diagnosis of diabetes.
In addition, larger subsidies are available to people who hold Centrelink concession or pension cards, or safety net cards. Ask your pharmacy staff if you are not sure which cards are needed to access the NDSS.

Choose a date: Select a date on which you wish to give up smoking entirely. Establish it as your goal to quit, and be dedicated to reaching it.

Reduce daily cigarette intake gradually: Reduce the number of ci******es you smoke each day gradually. It is an excellent method for gradually transitioning to a smoke-free lifestyle.

Find the triggers: Note the situations, places, and times that trigger your desire to smoke. Knowing what triggers, you can help you prepare and develop ways to stay away from these situations.

Practice relaxation and breathing techniques: Stress is frequently a trigger for smoking. Learn breathing and relaxation strategies to improve your ability to handle stress during difficult situations.

Keep a water bottle close at hand so you can drink it when you want to smoke. It helps divert your attention from cravings in addition to promoting hydration.
