Kirketon Road Centre Gadigal Country KRC is a health care service that provides free and anonymous care to people who experience barriers to accessing health care. What's our story?

KRC opened in 1987 at a time when it was clear that existing clinics and healthcare services were not well adapted to the needs of certain groups of people in the area. We believe that healthcare is a basic human right and that some populations have poorer access to healthcare. We are funded to provide services to:

1. People who inject drugs or are experiencing drug related harms
2. Sex workers
3. People experiencing homelessness
4. At-risk young people under 25, experiencing any of the above
5. People in urgent need of sexual health or HIV/Hepatitis care

Rachel, our legendary Outreach Nurse, will be taking some time off as she heads off on maternity leave! Her warmth, care, quirks, humour and dedication have made such a difference to our team and the communities we work with.

Hello everyone,

KRC will be closed temporarily between Thursday 23rd October and Sunday 26th October for essential upgrades.

But not to worry! We will return on Monday 27th October.

For any urgent S*xual Health issues contact SHIL on 1800 451 624.
Any urgent Drug and Alcohol issues contact ADIS on 1800 250 015.
Otherwise if you need to see a clinician, please visit your local GP for this time period.

The NSP vending machine will continue operating during this time.

🎉 Celebrating KRC at the NUAA Peers and Consumers Forum 2025!

We’re so proud of our incredible team members who shared their voices and insights at this year’s Peers and Consumers (PaC) Forum, hosted by NUAA NSW.

🌿 Ruby from our Projects team spoke powerfully on Agency & Autonomy (Women in AOD),
💬 Trent, one of our Peer Workers, represented Community Voices in Focus, and
✨ Akif, our Youth Project Officer, joined the Gen Z panel to close the event, answering the question “Where to from here?”

This year’s theme, “Two Steps Forward,” was a reminder that progress is happening - and together, we’re leading the way.

A huge thank you to NUAA for creating such an empowering space for connection, learning, and advocacy. We’re proud to be part of a sector that celebrates peer and professional leadership and lived expertise in action. 💪

Join our nursing team at Kirketon Road Centre!

We’re looking for a Registered Nurse (Clinical Outreach) to help deliver compassionate, trauma-informed care to our communities.

At KRC, no two days are the same - you’ll be working across our Kings Cross and outreach sites, providing s*xual health care, harm reduction, health promotion, wound care, vaccinations and much more.

We’re a passionate, multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of people who inject drugs, people experiencing homelessness, s*x workers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTQIA+ communities and ‘at-risk’ young people.

If you’re a motivated nurse with a strong sense of social justice and a non-judgmental approach to care, we’d love to hear from you.

Our Crown St NSP will be closed for painting from Monday 29 Sept – Thursday 2 Oct.

✅ In the meantime, NSP services are available:

Albion Centre Clinic (around the corner – Wednesdays from 2pm)

KRC (above the Darlinghurst Fire Station)

ACON – 414 Elizabeth St

Redfern NSP – Turner St

We’ll be back open at Crown St from Friday 3 October.
