The term “Unf**k Yourself” seems to be everywhere right now. It’s bold. It’s punchy. It’s a statement. I get it, I really do.

But here’s the thing… The idea that you are fundamentally broken and need to unf**k yourself might feel like motivation for a minute, but it often keeps you in a loop of constantly fixing, but never arriving.

It’s like running on a treadmill: you put in all that effort, but ultimately, you’re still in the same spot. It’s based on a fix-it mentality that creates endless cycles of self-improvement without true integration.

It’s the hustle, the grind, the relentless push for self-improvement that never lets you rest, because there’s always one more thing to fix. This way of thinking can reinforce the idea that you are damaged or incomplete, framing healing as a fight against yourself rather than an invitation to remember your wholeness.

Personally, I’m here for something different. I’m here for the deeper truth that I’m allowed to just be real.

What if the work isn’t about unf**king, but about unveiling?

For me, breathwork isn’t about fixing or bio-hacking my mind. It’s about unveiling the parts that were always whole. It’s about creating the space to meet what’s real and feel into it. The work isn’t to fix, it’s to feel what’s true and to clear what isn’t.

Not just to release, but to also receive. Not to unf**k, but to unveil.

The next time life feels chaotic and you want to change it, try this:

Sit in the awareness of said “f**kery” without the need to make it different. See what arises. Allow it without judgment. Not to change it, but to finally see it.

That is the essence of true presence. It’s not bypassing. It’s a meeting.
And from there, you finally have a place to create real change.

Having plenty to say doesn’t give you a voice—it’s actions that speak louder than words.

This weekend, I had the privilege and honor of spending time at the .breathwork.assoc Inspiration Meeting with an incredible group of dedicated professionals. Together, we’re working to uphold integrity, ethics, and global training standards in the breathwork industry—ensuring this powerful practice continues to be held with the depth, responsibility and respect it deserves.

🌈✨ Celebrating Diversity and Wellness ✨🌈

For the second year running, I’m proud to present Mardi Gras Breathwork, the first of its kind event as part of the official Mardi Gras Festival lineup!

Mardi Gras is more than just a celebration of colour, love, and inclusivity—it’s also a powerful reminder of the importance of nurturing our mental health and wellbeing… something that’s deeply important to me. That’s why I’m thrilled to bring Breathwork back to this vibrant community again, helping us explore mindfulness, emotional resilience, and self-awareness in a meaningful way.

Join me on Saturday, March 1st, for a transformative 90-minute Breathwork Experience at the Juanita Nielsen Community Centre from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm.

This session is all about stepping away from the usual party highs and embracing a more restorative experience. You’ll be guided into a space of calmness and clarity—designed to support your mental wellbeing and leave you feeling recharged and inspired.

Whether you’re looking to destress, tap into emotional regulation, or simply take a moment to nourish your mind, body, and soul, this session is for YOU.

Let’s break free from the noise, reset our energy, and dive into a practice that nurtures wholeness, inner peace, and joy. Experience the power of your breath to centre yourself in the present moment, empowering you to show up with strength, clarity, and love—for yourself and the world around you.

One of the biggest misconceptions about nervous system regulation is that fight or flight is “bad” and rest and relaxation is the “holy grail.”

But here’s the truth: what we really need is flexibility—the ability to switch states based on what the situation calls for, in a way that’s healthy, appropriate, and timely.

The nervous system governs our state of being, and it’s hardwired for either survival or connection, and both are equally important. Sometimes, survival is exactly what we need to take action for growth and expansion, but too much of it can lead to hypervigilance and anxiety. On the other hand, while connection brings contentment, relaxation, and ease, relying too much on it can lead to codependency, lack of self-trust, and unhealthy attachments if we don’t have a balanced inner authority.

Problems arise when we get stuck at either end—constant survival leads to chronic stress and burnout, while always relying on connection can leave us feeling disconnected from our true selves and personal power. This is often why someone’s world can fall apart when a relationship breaks down.

It’s not about “better” or “worse”—it’s about being in the optimal state for the situation at hand and having self-autonomy and inner resources to navigate life.

That’s what I’ll be diving into in my first workshop of 2025: learning how to navigate our nervous system through modern life, so we can ride the ups and downs with ease and grace. Along with an experiential process, you’ll gain valuable tools and resources you can integrate and apply to your daily life.

The world doesn’t need more 1/2 trained Breathwork facilitators, plant medicine retreat hosts and wanna be healers. What we need is more ethical, authentic, compassionate, open-hearted and consciously aware humans. In light of recent and disappointing behavior in the Breathwork space, it’s important to remember that if this is a professional direction you want to go in, then it’s crucial to educate and facilitate with integrity.

If you “just want yo get your training done ASAP” then maybe you should rethink your motives… if the school you choose is selling the fast track approach, it’s a BIG RED FLAG!!

The standard for global registration is a 2 year training pathway… this not only ensures adequate training, but it also weeds out those who don’t want to do the hard work themselves… and that’s a great thing 🙏 this is a powerful, vulnerable and deeply special modality… choose carefully out there. ~ When we release our tension, we realise our treasures ~

A question I often ask in workshops is… what are you in-tension with?

What we’re in tension with in our life, either conscious or unconscious is, is what needs to be cleared for our life to flow with more ease.

A big part of Therapeutic Breathwork is looking at where our body holds physical armouring and deep layers of tension and working to release these layers to restore the natural flow of energy.

Our body holds onto our life events and this often shows up in the body as pain, stiffness and limited moment.

If this is of interest, I am running a Breathwork session this coming Sunday 29th 2pm-4:30 at the cosy in Mosman.

How we approach one thing is pretty much how we approach most things… determined by the structures or perceptual filters we each uniquely view the world through… this is reflected in how we engage (or not engage) with more reflective practices like Breathwork, Mindfulness and Yoga.

Breathwork and especially more modern styles can often be approached with a competitive nature focusing on how fast or big your breath is, how much noise you can make or how long you can hold your breath… it can very easily become a competition with self and others…

This can often take us away from fully experiencing the more subtle and often more powerful qualities of fullness, ease, flow, connection and observation of how our breath moves through us.

As we notice how we approach our practices, we can bring more awareness to all areas of life, and as we do this we clear the way for more vital energy to flow through us with our ease and lightness 🙏

When openness, transcendence and the act of letting go are in place, the self-organising self-correcting intelligence of nature can take its course.

Beyond the science, the functionality and the techniques of Breathwork, we have the opportunity to connect with a creative force that’s built into the very fabric of the universe and creation itself.

We can call this Spirit in motion, and Breathwork is simply the vehicle for the journey… it’s not the destination.

Looking forward to another expansive Breathwork Journey today 🙏
