Breathwork is the doorway. Life is the destination.
Most people think breathwork is all about releasing trauma or chasing altered states, but what we’re really exploring is something much deeper and far more profound. The body’s capacity to stay present with life.
This work isn’t about fixing. It’s about creating the conditions for life to move more freely through the body, because life naturally moves toward expansion when the conditions support it.
Breathwork and Bioenergetics are practices that expand the organism’s capacity to feel, move energy, and stay present with life as it unfolds, and that’s exactly what we explored in last week’s Breath of Life retreat.
A huge shout out to the incredible group who shared this experience with me last week Your depth, openness, and willingness in the room created something that could only emerge through trust and presence.
Retreats don’t change your life by themselves. They reveal what is ready to change, and what continues to unfold after. The quiet shifts, the new awareness, the way life starts to feel a little more available.
More vitality. More aliveness. More of the life that’s already here, waiting to be lived.
If you feel ready to step into this work, the next Breath of Life retreat runs May 24–27 🙏

Is breathwork dangerous?
It can feel intense, activating, and unfamiliar, but intensity is not the same as harm.
What I’m seeing in the industry right now is a growing confusion between activation and retraumatisation, discomfort and danger, incomplete energy cycles and actual risk.
Breathwork is not inherently unsafe, but poor facilitation can be.
We’ve started pathologising intensity as harm. We’ve blurred the line between breath awareness and full-spectrum breathwork, and we’ve mistaken comfort for safety.
When activation is opened without completion and integration, the nervous system can remain partially charged. That lingering charge is often labelled as anxiety or “unsafe.”
Real safety in breathwork is not the absence of intensity. It is the presence of structure, skilled containment, and trust.
If you’re questioning whether breathwork is safe, I unpack this fully in my latest article. Link in bio

You’re not hard to fix. You’re just hard on yourself.
When we get stuck in life, most people try to fix themselves instead of simply being with themselves.
They step out of the present moment and into a story about who they should be.
Healing isn’t something to force or optimise. It’s the natural expansion that happens when you stop pushing, stop analysing, and let the body lead.
It’s what happens when you soften, stay with yourself, and let your nervous system reorganise.
When you stop gripping, your system expands. When you stop trying so hard, clarity arises on its own.
Presence is the doorway back to yourself. This is where you meet what’s true. This is where things really shift.

If 2025 reminded me of one thing, it’s this…
In a world constantly filled with opinions and partial truths, it’s worth remembering that we’re all just speaking from our own childhood conditioning, core values, lived experience, and level of self-awareness.
Often it’s the loudest voices that get the most attention. Not because they’re any wiser, but because conviction rarely asks for reflection. Simply put, the loudest voices can sound the most convincing.
For me, it’s about listening without surrendering inner authority. To let information inform me, but not define me or pull me off centre. To learn without losing myself.
To remember not every truth I hear is meant to become mine. Some are simply reflections of how another person perceives reality.
As we move into 2026, I remind myself of this…
Someone else’s truth is shaped by their own nervous system capacity, and their lived experience. And so is mine.
In a world full of opinions, I choose to stay anchored in my own experience and to strengthen my relationship with my inner reference point.
I choose to listen more carefully to my own inner knowing, not the external noise. To take in what resonates without losing touch with what’s true for me.
To remember that resonance doesn’t always mean alignment. And disagreement doesn’t mean I’m wrong.
As I often say to clients… Don’t believe a word I say until you’ve experienced it to be true for you too.
Happy New Year.

The deeper work begins when the body stops trying to control the breath and starts trusting what wants to move.
When regulation creates enough capacity, energy can circulate without force. Sensation can be felt without bracing. Vitality can rise without being overwhelmed.
This is where breathwork becomes less about mechanics and more about your relationship with your body, your nervous system, and life itself.
If this resonated, you’ll understand why the work is subtler, and far more powerful than it looks.

The term “Unf**k Yourself” seems to be everywhere right now. It’s bold. It’s punchy. It’s a statement. I get it, I really do.
But here’s the thing… The idea that you are fundamentally broken and need to unf**k yourself might feel like motivation for a minute, but it often keeps you in a loop of constantly fixing, but never arriving.
It’s like running on a treadmill: you put in all that effort, but ultimately, you’re still in the same spot. It’s based on a fix-it mentality that creates endless cycles of self-improvement without true integration.
It’s the hustle, the grind, the relentless push for self-improvement that never lets you rest, because there’s always one more thing to fix. This way of thinking can reinforce the idea that you are damaged or incomplete, framing healing as a fight against yourself rather than an invitation to remember your wholeness.
Personally, I’m here for something different. I’m here for the deeper truth that I’m allowed to just be real.
What if the work isn’t about unf**king, but about unveiling?
For me, breathwork isn’t about fixing or bio-hacking my mind. It’s about unveiling the parts that were always whole. It’s about creating the space to meet what’s real and feel into it. The work isn’t to fix, it’s to feel what’s true and to clear what isn’t.
Not just to release, but to also receive. Not to unf**k, but to unveil.
The next time life feels chaotic and you want to change it, try this:
Sit in the awareness of said “f**kery” without the need to make it different. See what arises. Allow it without judgment. Not to change it, but to finally see it.
That is the essence of true presence. It’s not bypassing. It’s a meeting.
And from there, you finally have a place to create real change.

Achieve all your personal, professional and relationship goals by developing in-depth self awareness that will transform the way you think, feel and live each day. The explorative space of coaching will move you from realisation through to actualisation as you discover what beliefs and behaviours have been holding you back from creating the life you desire.
Mark has been a Potts Point local for over 10 years, having grown up in greater Sydney. His interest in health and wellbeing started from a young age, joining the local gym at 17 years old and teaching his first group fitness class at 19.
Mark’s subsequent career in the health and wellness space has gained him experience from all over the world and gifted him the opportunity to inspire thousands of people to live a healthy, happy and fulfilling life. Mark has contributed to a number of health and wellness publications and presented at industry workshops and events.
Although the earlier part of his career is in the fitness space, Mark’s interest in personal development took a new direction when he discovered NLP (neuro linguistic programming) and experienced first hand how quickly it can change one's outlook on life for the better.
As a self-confessed achiever and perfectionist, in his mid 30’s things took a downhill slide when personal and professional expectations kept getting higher and higher, work success became an obsession and nothing was ever good enough, no matter how big the win. NLP was a game-changer in releasing his attachments to success and defining his self-worth based on achievements. This brought about a new found enjoyment for his personal and professional life and an interest in further studies and a new career path.
Mark is now a certified Meta-Coach and NLP practitioner who holds a Certificate IV in Personal Training, a Certificate in Nutrition and Wellness Coaching and has completed over 300 hours of Yoga teacher training. Mark believes there are three key areas to living at your best: MINDSET – NUTRITION – MOVEMENT – and when optimized, there’s no limit to the personal, professional and wider life goals you can achieve.
Keeping active most days of the week, you will either find Mark teaching a group fitness class, on the yoga mat, reading a book, or catching up with friends. His interest in human potential and the development of our consciousnesses, has built him a library full of self-development books and a recently found passion for yoga and its philosophy.
For recreation, Mark enjoys combining fitness and a love of the great outdoors. He has camped in most of the national parks in the USA, cruised the Caribbean, ice climbed and explored in Alaska, hiked the Inca trail to Machu Picchu, and more recently travelled to the Himalayas in India to complete his yoga teacher training at the Sivananda International School of Yoga & Vedanta.
Mark’s career aspirations moving forward are to continue to build his coaching practice, combined with more yoga studies that work on the subtle energies of the body so he can support clients to explore a deeper and more profound awareness of their body, mind, soul and spirit. With an unwavering “go-out-and-get-it” attitude combined with a pure intention, Mark prides himself on a passion for living one’s life to their highest potential.
