Spinach is one of those “small habits, big payoff” plants. 🌿

Three small reminders that green choices compound 🌿

This WellBeing “Green Beat” piece shares:

🕷️ Biodiversity matters — more diverse trees can support more spiders (nature’s pest control).

☀️ Solar is tipping — research suggests solar PV is on track to become the dominant energy source before 2050.

🌳 Greener neighbourhoods = healthier bodies — more local green space is linked with longer telomeres (a marker of biological age).

“Prepping” doesn’t have to mean bunkers and bulk-buying. Sometimes it looks like… knowing your neighbours. 🌱🤝

This WellBeing article explores community-based prepping — growing and sharing food locally (produce swaps, community gardens, nature strip growing), building practical neighbourhood connections, and strengthening resilience through shared resources and a gift economy mindset.

The Joy Reset

It was a familiar refrain in my household — a small, chaos: “Mummy, mummy, you’re not listening. Put your phone away.” But that Tuesday, it landed with more weight than usual. I didn’t like the way my son saw me: distracted, half-present, worn down.

Between managing two businesses, solo parenting, older parents and squeezing in crumbs of exercise, I was stretched impossibly thin. And somewhere in that moment — burnt toast, inbox overflowing, child tugging at me, I realised I didn’t need a break. I needed to stop before I broke. Never one to do things in halves, I booked a trip to Bhutan.

The world keeps spinning. Your mind will too.

But this WellBeing article is a beautiful reminder that stillness isn’t about making life quiet — it’s about finding the quiet centre inside the noise.

Even a few minutes a day can help the “dust settle” — giving you clearer thinking, calmer emotions, and better connection with the people around you.

Worth a read (and a slow breath) → https://www.wellbeing.com.au/body/the-importance-of-stillness.html

“Who has time for stillness?” But the question should be: “What are we really missing out on by not prioritising silent & soulful solitude?”
