I’m really happy to share that my new website is now live! It’s been a big year of change, challenges and some important decisions, but stepping away from my previous role opened the door to something really positive.

I’ve now created Combined Clinics Physiotherapy — a space where I can deliver the level of care I believe in, with a strong focus on accurate diagnosis, personalised treatment and next-level technology. We now have real-time ultrasound, BTL Focused Shockwave, VALD ForceDecks and Dynamo to support clear assessment and great outcomes.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me through this transition. Your messages, patience and encouragement have meant the world. I’m excited for this new chapter and looking forward to helping even more people move, feel and live better.

Focused Shockwave Therapy at Combined Clinics Physiotherapy

I’m proud to offer BTL Focused Shockwave Therapy — sophisticated, hospital-grade technology, and one of only three clinics in NSW with this level of equipment. This is true focused shockwave (not radial), allowing precise, deep-tissue treatment for stubborn tendon, muscle, and spinal pain. I also use it in my specialised field of Men’s Health.

If you’ve been dealing with a long-standing injury or a flare-up that hasn’t responded to other therapies, focused shockwave may be the breakthrough you’ve been looking for.

The new studio is now fully equipped and operational, bringing together a comprehensive assessment-to-treatment pathway in one space.

Current systems include:
• Reformer-based loading and neuromuscular retraining for hip, lumbar and pelvic stability.
• BLT Focused Shockwave (FSWT) for targeted treatment of tendinopathies, calcific lesions, pelvic pain and men’s health conditions.
• Vinno3 high-resolution diagnostic ultrasound for dynamic assessment of multifidus, abdominal wall, hip structures, tendon pathology and real-time motor control retraining.
• VALD FORCEDECKS for balance, strength, gait and postural control assessment — providing objective metrics to guide rehab progression.
• VALD Dynamo for precision strength profiling, asymmetry detection and monitoring tissue load tolerance over time.

Integrating these systems creates a clear diagnostic pathway with quantifiable baselines, targeted intervention, and measurable outcomes — all within a single clinical environment.

Looking forward to applying this multidisciplinary setup to deliver truly evidence-driven physiotherapy.

Movember — a month with real meaning. 🤍👨‍🦰 Growing the mo, moving the body, and taking a moment to support the men in our lives. Mental health matters; connection matters; you matter. This month, let’s slow down, check in, move a little each day, and remind our mates they’re not alone. Sometimes a walk, a chat, or simply showing up makes all the difference. Here’s to stronger bodies, stronger minds, and a kinder world for men everywhere. Be gentle with yourself — and each other. 💛

How's that for balance, posture, core stability, ritual, and discipline? I was at the Grand Sumo Tournament in Tokyo earlier this week and was inspired by these incredible athletes. As a hip specialist, I was particularly impressed by the glutes' strength and hip range.

I had the thrill of attending the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo recently. The incredible performances and very few injuries were a tribute to the great training and teamwork of the physiotherapists and medical staff.

As a former track and long-distance runner, I enjoy collaborating with athletes on injury management and prevention.

There’s nothing I like more than a new piece of equipment! I’m integrating the VALD forced plates into my rehab programs at Combined Clinics, Darlinghurst. It measures balance, sway, squat load and strength and is a great add on for gym goers, those recovering from surgery or injury and for balance training in the elderly.

January 2018

I always wanted to ‘push myself’ in whatever field of study or endeavour I was in. I was never satisfied with being ‘one of the crowd’ and have always strived to be excellent, and creative , no matter whatI was engaged in. I studied my Masters of Health Science (with honours) at the University of Sydney, graduating in 2001, having done my Bachelors in London, and previously studied Archaeology at the University of York, graduating in 1988.

After many years as a loyal employee, and then working in multi-discilinary team in Darlinghurst Medical Centre for eight years, I established Excel Physiotherapy and Wellness in 2014. We now have five Physiotherapists working at Excel, all with their own unique talents and specialities, contributing to the team energy and helping one another to provide the best service that we can to our clients.

In addition to Physio we take small group Pilates and Yoga classes and provide remedial massage. Our supply team are very involved in the business and help to make Excel an exciting and unique place to work: all of which makes me glad that I have pushed myself in my endeavours. The most important thing I can say about Physio is that I have loved my profession and I am very proud of my profession and what it can do. I wish you all a healthy and safe 2018!
