🌈 Skin health for everyone 🌈

Today we’re proud to launch The Skin Hospital’s Inclusive Skin Health Campaign in the lead-up to Mardi Gras.

This campaign is about making it clear that The Skin Hospital is a safe, welcoming place for everyone to access expert skin checks and dermatological care - including members of the trans, gender-diverse and LGBTQIA+ community.

With one of our sites located in Darlinghurst, at the heart of Sydney’s LGBTQIA+ community, and clinics across Sydney and NSW, our commitment to inclusive, respectful care extends well beyond any one location.

We’re proud to stand alongside clinicians and practices who support these communities and to be recognised as a place where everyone is respected, supported and welcome.

While this campaign aligns with Mardi Gras, it is not temporary. Inclusion, respect and access to expert dermatological care are part of who we are and how we care for our community, every day.

Because everyone deserves to feel safe, seen and supported when it comes to their skin. 💖✨

Be loud. Be proud. Be safe.

✨ Research that shapes real-world care

We’re proud to highlight newly published research in the Australasian Journal of Dermatology conducted by clinicians at The Skin Hospital.

These studies examine:
• Emerging technologies to improve detection of keratinocyte carcinoma during Mohs micrographic surgery

• Refined surgical techniques for stable vitiligo using autologous epidermal cellular grafting

This research goes beyond theory — it directly informs how we diagnose, treat, and care for patients every day. It reflects our commitment to advancing dermatology through innovation, collaboration, and evidence-led practice.

Congratulations to our clinicians and researchers for contributing work that helps move the specialty forward.

✨ Welcome to 2026 ✨This year marks 50 years of the Skin & Cancer Foundation, Australia.

Our story began in the early 1970s, when NSW dermatologists came together with a shared vision to establish a Foundation that would support and advance academic dermatology in Australia. That vision became reality in 1976, when Dr Ken Paver, alongside Drs Ken Poyzer, Ray King and Ron Spencer, opened the Skin & Cancer Foundation Australia’s first clinic within St Vincent’s Hospital Medical Centre.

Since the beginning, everything we do has been guided by a simple principle – reinvesting back into the Foundation to support education, research and the future of dermatology.

Fifty years on, we are still going strong with over 60 dermatologists and other specialists working with the Foundation to continue strengthening the legacy and mission.

We look forward to a great year ahead!

Dermatology care should be accessible to everyone.

For people experiencing homelessness, factors such as sleeping rough and limited access to basic hygiene, sun protection and timely medical care can significantly increase the risk of skin disease, infection and skin cancer. Ongoing environmental exposure, chronic sun damage and untreated conditions may further compound existing health vulnerabilities.

Through Skin Care Without Barriers, The Skin Hospital supports Australians experiencing homelessness by improving access to specialist dermatology care and essential skin protection. As a not for profit organisation, all funds raised are reinvested into patient care, education and outreach programs, helping to reduce barriers and improve long term skin health outcomes for some of our most vulnerable communities.

Community support plays a vital role in making this work possible.

If you are able, we invite you to donate and help ensure dermatology care is available to those who need it most.

Donations can be made via the link below or in our bio.
