Misinformation grabs attention. But the real story is analysing why systems and attitudes make life harder for autistic people.
Positive Behaviour Support should focus on inclusion and quality of life, not on erasing people’s differences

There’s no quick fix when it comes to behaviour support. But there is a process that works. PBS means taking the time to understand the person, create a clear and practical plan, and walk alongside them and the people who support them. It’s a journey shaped by their goals, values, and what matters most in everyday life.

Thanks for the shout out Territory True, we think Niki is amazing 😻

Once again grateful for our ongoing Behaviour Support sessions with Niki Flack from Positive Practices. This is not a ‘learn and burn’ session - this is ongoing data analysis, sharing of progress and analysing obstacles. It’s the luxury of having a professional Mentor, but also the allocation of paid hours to collaborate and put our heads together to strive for True improvement in service delivery. A committed Crew - we love you all.

We had the pleasure of hosting Rachel Kroes the CEO of the NT Down Syndrome Association, and Angela Van Roden clinical psychologist, who spoke to our team of behaviour practitioners about the journey of disability parenting, understanding key elements of disability and health to inform practice as a practitioner, and the importance of creating BSPs that are appropriate for a persons goals across their lifespan.

We are incredibly grateful for your time today- thanks Angela and Rachel! 🙏🙏

Exciting Updates from Our Team!

✅ New Office – We’ve officially moved into our new space at 116 Coonawarra Road, providing an even better environment for our team and the people we support.

✅ Growing Team – A warm welcome to our four new practitioners: Jess, Petua, Faith, and Sarah! We’re also strengthening our leadership team with Lena (Clinical Lead), Lydia (Policy & Compliance), Robyn (Administration Manager), and Oby & Niki (Team Leaders)—ensuring strong guidance and support for our services.

✅ Quality & Compliance – Today, we successfully completed our NDIS Stage 2 Recertification Audit with no major non-conformities—demonstrating our commitment to high standards and best practices.

It’s been a busy few months as we continue to invest in clinical systems and improvements. We are accepting referrals and excited to collaborate with participants and stakeholders across NT and WA.

Thank you for your ongoing support and patience as we navigate these positive changes!

We have had our Director Alana, Clinical Lead Lena Martin, and Team Leaders Niki Flack and Oby Ativie attend the Flinders clinical supervision course and the feedback has been so positive!

At Positive Practices we take a learning and development approach to our service and are deeply committed to upskilling ourselves, and also supporting our practitioners to be able to implement the science of PBS, ensuring they have extensive supervision and support to provide a quality service to our participants.

Look at all these smiling faces from our first Clinical Supervision Workshop in 2025😇

Held across our five NT campuses, this workshop is ideal for health professionals who want to gain skills and knowledge to better incorporate the clinical supervision of learners into their work.👩‍⚕️🧑‍🏫👨‍🔬
