A Naturopath is a health practitioner who aims to restore optimal health by natural means. Naturopathy is a holistic approach of health care and wellness. Starting childcare and daycare germ go hand-in-hand together!

Saying this, it is important for your child to experience different infections as it helps to build and strengthen their immune system. But if they are recurrent infections one after another or the infections don’t seem to be resolving themselves within a sufficient amount of time it might be time to come and visit us!

When it’s time to seek help:
😷 before they start daycare to help support their immune system to prevent infections
😷 if they are getting recurrent infections one after another, as soon as they get better another one starts
😷 received more then 2 rounds of antibiotics in 6 months
😷 infections or symptoms lasting longer than two weeks
😷 they are missing more days than they are attending

Let’s talk postpartum nutrition!

👶 After I had Lenny the first meal I was provided was a white bread vegiemite sandwich and apple juice. Unfortunately, this is not adequate nutrition to refuel the body after what it’s just been through.

👉 Important nutrients at this time include, protein and good fats and whole grains or complex carbs, these are are found nutrient dense foods likes, nuts, seeds, meats, fruit, veggies and whole grains.

👉 Here are some ideas of what I packed to take with me, some was to consume in labour and some for the days following following birth (Swipe right)

🧡Fruit
🧡Crackers (these have seeds and nuts that give good protein and good fats)
🧡Chicken and veggie soup (I frozen this and got my partner to heat while I laboured at home, put in thermos and into the hospital bag, this was meant to be my first meal, but our bags got lost 🤦‍♀️)
🧡Energy balls - full of dates, nuts and seeds
🧡Healthy, whole grain muesli bars
🧡100% juice and coconut water for rehydration
🧡Homemade granola with whole grain, nuts and seeds and dried fruit
🧡Nuts and seeds mix
