In my tarot practice this morning, I decided to use a new deck. Called The Muse Tarot, the cards called to me as I was looking for new decks, with strong feminine energy and photorealistic imagery. I bought the deck about 6 months ago and although I've often sat with it, shuffled it, and meditated on its gorgeous pictures and colours, I'd never read with it. The crisp clarity of the turn of the season air this morning encouraged me to shake things up a bit and do a deep Celtic Cross dive into its energies.

While shuffling, I asked the deck to reveal itself to me, to let me in on its secrets and whispers of knowledge and truth. Here is the quick interpretation:

It's going to take some patience to get a handle on it, along with some further alone time with the cards, meditating on their own energy outside of traditional tarot meanings.

I'm still holding onto fears and anxiety about new things, a lot of unwarranted self doubt about my abilities are holding me back from deepening my relationship with the cards and my practice. I fear inauthenticity, being the charlatan, the snake oil seller. A couple of cards carry a warning to be rational, honest, and fair and balanced with my readings, which is what every reader should be, but some are unfortunately not.

But the skill, passion, intuition, and wisdom are all there for me to access to read this beautiful deck with confidence, accuracy, and empathy. I must be patient, I must be meditative, I must be strong in my resolve to master my craft despite any inner or outer voices of discouragement or derision. I also need to get out more and talk to actual people 🙄😜

It's been a while.

I get lost in life sometimes. I also work a job that necessitates a lot of screen time so I actively avoid it when I get home, even if it means my new little venture suffers.
We all have our limits...

Anyway, Mabon (Autumn Equinox) Blessings! Happy Easter, and Blessed Ostara/ Eostre to my Northern Hemisphere loves.

Here in the Southern Hemisphere, The Autumn Equinox is a time to take stock of your 'harvest' from the Spring and Summer seasons and begin to prepare for Samhain and the slow down of late Autumn and Winter.

There is a quick and simple Mabon Tarot Spread you can do for yourself to check in and take stock of the seasons of growth and fecundity. I call it the Stocktake Spread (yep, Queen of the Obvious here!!)

I've included an image of the 4 card spread, along with an example reading for your reference. Let's break it down.

Card One: What has Grown? Ace of Athames
The first card is all about examining your harvest for the past two seasons. What did you plant (physically, spiritually mentally and emotionally) in your Spring rituals? What did you nurture, and foster over the season of Summer growth and connection? What did you protect against the wild storms and baking heat of the season? What has planted deep within you that can survive the cycles of birth and death as each season morphs into another?

In the example reading, the querant has drawn the Ace of Athames (Swords). They have sown the seeds of rigorous enquiry and new beginnings for themselves and it is a very auspicious beginning. It won't be easy - the Athames always cut both ways, but there is mental determination and a clear head so the harvest will more than likely be bountiful.

Card 2: Hidden Blessings. What am I grateful for? The Crone
The Querant is grateful for the strength, wisdom and courage they have shown over the past seasons to be where they are at this moment. They have learned much through the hard work and determination of planting their seeds and the energy of this card in the gratitude space, with all of its encompassing compassion and wisdom, softens the Ace of Athames and and gives it light and positivity.

Card 3: What can I give to others? The Holly King
Given the wisdom and compassion that the querant is grateful for, and the inspiration and ideas in the mental/ communication space of the Ace of Athames, the Holly King in the giving space suggests that the querant could consider mentoring others, and showing through example, the power of growth, the evolution of thought, and understanding.

Card 4: What can the Darkness teach me? King of Pentacles
As our world gets darker and the days get longer and colder, we also move into a different state of being. We need to be sure that we are well stocked for the Winter months. In the example reading, the querant has drawn the King of Pentacles. You couldn't really ask for a much better card to sit in this space in the Stocktake Reading.

The querant has done the hard yards over the Spring and Summer seasons. They have had a spark of inspiration and acted on it, gaining the strength, courage, and wisdom to see their vision through and they face the darker months in comfort, knowing that their hard work and strong business sense will see them through to the Spring. They are generous with their bounty and prepared to help those in need.

Would you like a Stocktake Reading? Hit me up and we can arrange. Would you like another type of reading? Let me know 🙏

Have you done your own Stocktake Reading? If you feel like it, share your reading here with us for discussion and inspiration💡

I hope you all have a beautiful holiday with those you love.

" I just got the Death Card in my reading. Oh My God! Am I going to die??!!"

The short answer is: Yes. You're going to die. ALL of us are, eventually. 💀
Are you going to die because of the Death card in your reading? Is someone you know going to die?

NO!! But rest assured, something in your life is coming to an end. Probably something big, as Major Arcana cards in a reading generally point to big life events.

You're probably hanging on too tightly to whatever it is in your life that needs to go. Is it a relationship that's run its course but the security of the known is keeping you hanging on? Is it a toxic work environment that you don't want to leave because of the fear of starting again elsewhere? It could be a big move from a family home, time for retirement, giving up the booze or the ciggies or other drugs, ending a long term friendship that has gone bad, or even a health issue that forces you to change key aspects of the way you live.

The Death card pretty much promises you that whatever your situation, it's time to cut ties, grieve, and move on. What you're clinging to is no longer serving you and you need to go through the pain of loss to be reborn into a new phase of your life.

As David Bowie sings, "Turn and face the strange" because Death is teaching you that it's okay to let go and re grow. Lean into the change, learn from the experience, and rise like the phoenix from the ashes to enjoy life free from the situation that has been holding you back.

This evening I'm using the energy of the Virgo Full Moon for grounded practice, taking myself back to being the apprentice, the student.

We never stop learning and there's always an opportunity for a deeper dive into what we thought we knew, what still resonates, and what no longer serves us.

I'm making the most of the practical healing energies of this moon to focus on methodical application of practice to serve myself and others

Who's heading out tonight to bask in the silvery rays of the Virgo Full Moon? 🌕♍️

Full moons tend to affect all of us in some way. Some of us like to embrace the energy and howl, some of us feel it's all a bit too much and like to hide.

But every full moon gives us an opportunity to shed light on certain aspects of our existence on this beautiful blue ball and this moon's energy is calling us to examine our our health and wellbeing, especially our emotional health and well being as the Moon is strongly connected to emotions.

This moon may prove to be a challenge for the perfectionists amongst us. Often these days we hear people proudly declare themselves as perfectionists or workaholics, and hold up OCD as a cute little quirk, rather than the debilitating illness it actually is. The thing is, perfectionism is EXHAUSTING! It's also damaging to our self esteem and self confidence as it's an almost impossible goal and the pursuit of it can leave us feeling unfulfilled or a failure. Use the energy of the Virgo Moon to take a deep dive into your perfectionist tendencies and ask yourself how much they're really serving you? Is there an element of an inability to relinquish control that drives them?

Focus on healing and forgiveness, firstly of yourself - after all NOBODY is perfect! Send healing and forgiving energy into your relationships with others. Has your need for perfectionism and control damaged any of your relationships? Has their need for perfection or control damaged your relationships with them?

Practice forgiving your friends/ family/ colleagues for not meeting your ideals of perfection. It is not their role to be under your control. Nor is it your role to be under theirs. Release them with love.

I hope you all enjoy the light from tonight's Moon and use the energy to give yourself a big detox of any self limiting thoughts and beliefs of not being perfect or good enough. You're beautiful. And you've got this 👊🏽

What will you be doing tonight? Howling or hiding?

💡Mythbusting Monday💡

I hear this so often...
"I'm too scared to have a Tarot reading. I don't want to know what's going to happen in my future. What if it's bad?"

There is this all pervasive archetype of the witchy Tarot reader with the crystal ball, swathed in scarves and dripping crystals, who invites you into her dimly lit room, incense and candles burning, the whole dark and mysterious vibe. The quintessential "Fortune Teller".

Apart from films and novels, and the occasional total weirdo who somehow exists between planes, nobody can predict your future but you. What Tarot does is give you cues and triggers to think a little deeper about 3 things; where you've been and where you're at, and what options may be in your future based on this.
That's it.
Wow. Seems kinda not magical at all now does it? Sorry 🤷‍♀️

The truth is, Tarot is a unique, artistic, and colourful way to tap into your intuition and have a deeper think about what you really want, what is really best for you, what options may be available to you, and most importantly, where you're placed spiritually, emotionally, materially, and mentally right now to use the tools at your disposal to meet your challenges and accept your bounty.

You should never be a passive recipient of a reading. A good reader will always be engaging you in the process, interpreting the story your cards tell, and asking you for clarity and your own intuition about the scenario in front of you. A reading is a relationship, an exchange. It should never be passive.

See? Nothing to be afraid of - except yourself of course, but that's none of my business 😆

Welcome!
Thank you for joining me as I embark on this new chapter of my journey 🎉

I've been reading tarot on and off since I was 18 years old. Since beginning the transition into my 🧙‍♀️ crone years, I've felt an overpowering pull back to the magical ways of my maiden days, which has resulted in this!
Silver Sidhe 🧚‍♀️ (pronounced Shee) Tarot.
The Sidhe are the Fairie Folk, filled with wisdom, joy, playfulness, and no small amount of mischief and pranks!

So too, can the Tarot help us to tap into our own intuition and signpost places and spaces of wisdom, joy, inspiration, work, and play, while cautioning us to watch out for strife, pranksters, and mischief.

The Tarot is also called The Fool's Journey. The Fool is the first card in the deck, and signifies beginnings, optimism, self assurance, excitement, and a kind of child like naivety that this is all going to be a raucously good time. In my favourite deck (at the moment), The Green Witch Tarot, the Fool is represented as the Greenman, God of Nature. He embodies the promise of Spring and new life, new awakenings and new adventures. So I figure that he is the perfect card to meditate on at the start of our journey together.
