Sunday is HRV (Heart Rate Variability) Day, and today mine is up by 2 points....I'll take it!! From 41 to 43.
Ive been practicing 1:1 breathing and trying to go to bed earlier, with no screens after 7:30pm ( fell off the wagon a couple of times), but overall I'm happy. I've a way to go, but learning all about Nervous System Health has been a game changer, Trauma Informed Nervous System Health even more so. This weeks Certification topic is Exteroception ( our perception of the external world and how we connect to our environment..a very brief description!)

A lovely start to the Weekend with our week one session of Pelvic Connections. Our focus today was on our Breath, our Hips and our Core, and a little bit of Balance. Lots of variation, with gradual progression.

Yesterday, we held our Jean Hailes Womens Health Week event with a class including elements from our Yoga Synergy, Pelvic Connections and Vagus Awareness. All topped off with Morning Tea and a catch up.
I had great fun making some cute little Yoga Mat keyrings for everyone who came, added some handouts for Pelvic Health and a Yoga block - all in the lovely bags provided by the The Jean Hailles Foundation. Thankyou to all the ladies who came along.

Diving into this for the next 12 weeks! 📖

I can't wait to start incorporating the skills I'll be learning from this into Clinical Practice as well as the Yoga21 Space.
I've learnt so much over the last few months on the Vagus Nerve Program, which was mainly about my personal journey for Nervous System Regulation. I've started to incorporate some of the skills I learnt from the program into our Yoga21 Movement sessions, and now it's time to delve even deeper and learn more about Neuroplasticity, Neuroception, Heart Rate Variability & so much more...who doesn't love Science!!
Here's to improved regulation and less inflammation! Yes please!!
And the best bit? I'll get to share some practices with you ❤️

Join me for THE VAGUS EFFECT workshop on Wednesday 24th September where we will explore:

🌟 The science of the Vagus Nerve and why it matters for Health & Wellbeing.
🌟 Simple, evidence based techniques to support regulation and resilience.
🌟 Practical tools you can take away and use in daily life.

This 90 minute session is designed to leave you informed, empowered, and better equipped to work with ( not against!) your nervous system.

We've added a new Pelvic Connections group class, starting on Friday September 12th.
WHAT: Pelvic Connections
WHEN: Friday September 12th at 9am
DURATION: 60 minutes for 5 weeks
COST: $150 for 5 weeks.
MAX GROUP SIZE: 6

Finishing off our fun session of Pelvic Connections this morning after working on our Balance, Coordination, Brain games and Foot/ Toe mobility.
Lots of laughs and challenges, all whilst having fun.
If there is enough interest, I can offer a second Pelvic Connections Class either on a Wednesday morning at 8am or at 9:30am on a Friday.

High intensity exercises using your large muscle groups ( think quads/ hammies/ core /glutes) can actually wake up your brain and can help with Cognitive learning for upto 4 hours after you've fired those muscles up. Great for if you're feeling unmotivated and a bit lethargic.
