TODAY IS WORLD CANCER DAY.

For many people going through cancer treatment blood donations are vital.

Patients may need red blood cells, platelets , plasma or all three to manage treatment side effects and keep their bodies strong. Transfusions help people with cancer to continue with their treatment and help therm remain well.
In case of stem cell transplant it can directly save their life.

You can help by donating BLOOD. You can make an incredible difference to someone going through cancer treatment. Perhaps think about blood donation, and if this would be something that you might be willing to do.

to everybody who has cancer STAY STRONG. YOU ARE BRAVE.

Happy New Year!

I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for the warm welcome since I started working as your local GP at Dayboro Valley Health at beginning of 2025. It’s been so beautiful meeting you all and getting to know you.

I moved to Dayboro a little more than a year ago - attracted by the beautiful scenery, the fresh air, and the calm country feel, as well as the strong sense of community. I honestly can’t think of a better place to live and raise my family.
My husband, my babies and I feel very lucky to now call it our forever home 💕

I’m looking forward to caring for you and your families for many years to come.

I have the best job in the world and looking after the community is an absolute privilege. Thanks again for trusting me & being so kind — it truly means a lot. 💛

We removed the post about us continuing as a mixed billing practice, because it may have implied that bb clinics were not providing the same level of care as mixed billing clinics this was not our intention
Our focus and intention remains
to continue delivering high quality medical care from a team of local drs and nurses.

💙 You’re not alone — we’re in this together.

From 23-29 November 2025, we’re joining the national movement to shine a light on perinatal mental health.

Whether you’re expecting, just welcomed your little one, or supporting someone who is — the emotional ups and downs matter. Studies show this time of life brings heightened risk of anxiety and depression.

At Dayboro Valley Health we believe in:
• Creating a safe, caring space for you and your family
• Encouraging honest conversations about how you’re feeling
• Connecting you with help and support when you need it

👉 If you’re finding things harder than expected — or just want someone to listen — we’re here. Drop by, call us, or book in.
💐 Your feelings are real, valid and worthy of care.

Let’s build a community that supports every parent. ❤ Please share this post to spread the message, and tag someone who may need to see it.

What happens when you sign up for My Medicare with a GP practice

It basically means that you are nominating the practice to be your regular practice
It means that the practice is able to provide continuity of care which is important if you have a chronic condition
It helps you, along with your nominated GP to decide how to plan and manage your health problems.
This is helpful in making sure all that can be done to manage your condition is being done. It also helps your GP and practice nurses to identify if any other problems that may be developing.

If you do not have a chronic condition then the main benefit for you to register with My Medicare is that you can form a long lasting relationship with your GP and the practice building trust and confidence.

Once you have signed up with a practice
It is not hard to leave or change practices
The new practice you attend can remove you from your nominated practice with the flick or a couple of computer clicks

There are many valid reasons to want to change practices that is why
Medicare have made it easy to change
If you have registered with another practice then you can still visit a different practice to the one you are registered with.

The only thing that you cannot do is have a new care plan
Unless you want to change practices. However if you are going to change from your nominated practice and want your new practice to carry on your care plan then we are able to do this by reviewing your plan.

Please do not feel you have to register with our practice with My Medicare. We are still able to offer you medical care and our reception staff doctors and nurses can help you with any question.
It all can seem difficult to understand
