These adorable dolls emerged spontaneously in this week’s art group. Following a participant’s lead, we explored how a simple idea can evolve when curiosity is supported and materials are made available.
Moments like this remind me that creativity doesn’t need to be directed—it unfolds. Through play, imagination, and shared process, each person finds their own way of expressing something meaningful.
It’s always a privilege to witness. ✨

Celebrating creativity, connection & community 🎨✨

There is something truly powerful about community-based art practice… it brings people together in a way that words sometimes can’t. Through shared creative experiences, we find connection, confidence, and a sense of belonging.

Over the past 7 weeks, I’ve had the absolute privilege of facilitating arts-based workshops with ADEC. Watching individuals show up, express themselves, and connect with one another has been incredibly special.

And in full transparency… I’ve grown too.
I’ve found my voice more. My knees don’t knock together as much, and I can actually catch my breath when I speak! 😄

These spaces don’t just support participants—they shape us as facilitators too.

To top it all off, there is now an exhibition of participant works at the Hunt Club Community Arts Centre, and a beautiful newspaper feature in the Brimbank Star Weekly, sharing the voices and experiences of those involved.

This is why I do what I do 💛
Art has the power to bring people together—and when it does, something really meaningful unfolds.

Behind the scenes in the studio… 🎨 🌱💚
I spent my summer immersed in this piece—giving myself the time and space to create.
It felt equal parts amazing and nerve-racking, especially stepping into something this big for the very first time.

One Medium. Twenty People. Endless Creativity.

Today I facilitated another creative session with the wonderful group at ADEC. With something as simple as tissue paper, it’s amazing to witness what can unfold when people are given open-ended creative invitations.

Each person comes into the room with their own life experiences, strengths and unique way of seeing the world. Some members of the group live with disability, so the materials and directives need to be accessible and inclusive for everyone in the room.

With the right invitation to create, a single medium can become many things — texture, colour, shape, story.

What always moves me is watching confidence grow as creativity begins to unfold. Twenty people, twenty completely different expressions.

With permission, I captured a few moments of the works in progress — small glimpses of creativity emerging.

And once again I’m reminded… you don’t need complicated materials to make meaningful art. Just the right space, the right invitation, and people willing to explore.

A beautiful, soulful afternoon spent with a group of women over the weekend, creating vision boards and gently zoning into our own intentions, goals and dreams.

There was something so special about the energy in the room—stories shared, quiet moments of reflection, and the magic that can happen when we truly commit to ourselves.

A heartfelt thank you to the beautiful women who shared the afternoon with me. Your openness, warmth and presence made it truly special.

It’s amazing what can be created in just a couple of hours when we slow down, get clear, and allow ourselves the space to dream.
A relaxing, nourishing afternoon for the heart and soul. ✨
