One Medium. Twenty People. Endless Creativity.

Today I facilitated another creative session with the wonderful group at ADEC. With something as simple as tissue paper, it’s amazing to witness what can unfold when people are given open-ended creative invitations.

Each person comes into the room with their own life experiences, strengths and unique way of seeing the world. Some members of the group live with disability, so the materials and directives need to be accessible and inclusive for everyone in the room.

With the right invitation to create, a single medium can become many things — texture, colour, shape, story.

What always moves me is watching confidence grow as creativity begins to unfold. Twenty people, twenty completely different expressions.

With permission, I captured a few moments of the works in progress — small glimpses of creativity emerging.

And once again I’m reminded… you don’t need complicated materials to make meaningful art. Just the right space, the right invitation, and people willing to explore.

A beautiful, soulful afternoon spent with a group of women over the weekend, creating vision boards and gently zoning into our own intentions, goals and dreams.

There was something so special about the energy in the room—stories shared, quiet moments of reflection, and the magic that can happen when we truly commit to ourselves.

A heartfelt thank you to the beautiful women who shared the afternoon with me. Your openness, warmth and presence made it truly special.

It’s amazing what can be created in just a couple of hours when we slow down, get clear, and allow ourselves the space to dream.
A relaxing, nourishing afternoon for the heart and soul. ✨

As part of my role as a Hunt Club resident artist and Creative Arts Therapist, I’m invited to share workshops with the local community at an affordable price point, making wellbeing, creativity and connection more accessible 🌿

I’m excited to be offering a beautiful mix of movement, creativity and community for Term 1, 2026 across Brimbank.

Here’s what’s on offer:

🧘‍♀️ Yoga for Relaxation
• Saturdays
• First session held at Cairnlea Community Hub
• A gentle, grounding class to unwind and reset

🧘 Slow Flow Hatha Yoga
• Thursdays
• A calm, steady practice focusing on breath, strength and ease

🎨 Vision Board Workshop
• Saturday 14 February
• A reflective, creative session to explore intentions and what you’re calling in for the year ahead

Behind the scenes in the studio this summer 🎨

For the past 7 weeks, I’ve had the privilege of facilitating creative workshops with ADEC.

With a materials budget built into my quote, I set myself the challenge of creating invitations to art-making that could meet everyone in the room — large groups, diverse cultural backgrounds, and a wide range of abilities and confidence levels.

It’s been incredible to witness what can unfold with something as simple as black fine-liners, watercolours, and markers. In a few sessions, I also introduced mixed media and a beautiful array of papers, opening up new possibilities for texture, choice, and self-expression.

What stayed with me most was watching creative confidence grow — people taking risks, trusting their instincts, and gently surprising themselves. Just as powerful was seeing connections form, conversations deepen, and a shared sense of belonging emerge through the creative process.

A beautiful reminder that creativity doesn’t need to be complicated to be meaningful — it just needs space, care, and invitation. 🎨✨

One of the true highlights of my year was attending the 5th Annual Creative Mental Health Forum on BoonWurrung Country in Inverloch.

This documentary beautifully captures the power of the arts within our communities — their ability to nurture resilience, deepen connection, and bring people together in meaningful ways. Being part of this project is an absolute privilege, and one I hold with deep gratitude.

I am, and always will be, indebted to Dr Carla Van Laar for her vision, unwavering work ethic, and wholehearted advocacy for the creative arts therapy profession. Her leadership continues to shape and strengthen our field in profound ways.
