The Deloraine Apex Club would like offer a Big Thanks to Michael Kelly and the Kelly Gang crew for kindly donating some woodchips for the Apex Caravan Park. With the recent floods there are a few sites left looking a bit worse for wear and a touch too muddy to be used. With the busy season starting and the Tasmanian Craft Fair just around the corner, we were starting to worry that some bookings may need to be cancelled. With the help of Greg from Dig-Ezi, these sites should now be able to be used over this busy period and we can look to make more permanent solutions when the park slows back down. Thanks again Kelly Gang and Dig-Ezi Excavations for your ongoing support 👍

The British Hotel host a weekly Trivia night and money raised each month is donated to a local business or organisation. In the months of October and November, $800 was raised and kindly donated to Giant Steps Tasmania. This money will go towards new permanent metal communication boards in the school playgrounds. We are extremely grateful to The British Hotel for their support of our school.

You may be aware, the Meander Valley Council has made the decision to put out an Expression of Interest bid for the land use and management of the Deloraine Apex Caravan Park.
It was recently found that the club no longer held a current contract with the Council and while the Club was in discussions with the Council on renewing one, another service provider from the community has attempted to take over the park.
After lengthy discussions with members and employees from the Meander Valley Council as well as a proposal submitted by the Apex Club, the decision was still made to offer the park out as Expressions of Interest.

The Deloraine Apex Club started the Deloraine Caravan Park in the 1970’s.
Through hard work and dedication, the members of the Apex club turned the vacant River bank into the caravan park, offering a picturesque location for visitors to stay.
Since then, the club has continued to upgrade and maintain the park, helping it to become the successful and self sustaining business that it is today. The Deloraine Apex Club relies heavily on the parks continuous business revenue to be able to put back into the community in both service projects and in donations.

In the day and age we live in, the club is finding it harder and harder to encourage young people to want to join and volunteer their time to a service club like Apex, and with the loss of the Caravan Park, it will likely be the beginning of the end for the club and all the works and money that is put into the community by the club.

The current members of Apex will be submitting an Expression of Interest in retaining the park, but would like to ask for the help of all past Apexians, Friends of Apex, Local business’s that the Deloraine apex club has supported in the past, and members of the community to also approach your Meander Valley Council members and express your support for the Club.

So we’ve had some flood damage in the park over the last few days, which will take us a week or two to sort out to get ourselves back up and running again!
If anyone comes across a rather large gas bottle, we are still missing 1! We had 2 float away down the river, and one still hasn’t been found, if anyone comes across it, can they let us know?
