It's time for another installment of our "Meet the Vets of the Meander Valley" series! Today, we're introducing a true local who has returned to her rootsโ€”Dr. Juleesa Braybon.

Born and bred in Tasmania, Juleesa grew up on a dairy farm right here in the Meander Valley! After spending 12 years on the mainland and graduating from Charles Sturt University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology/Bachelor of Veterinary Science, she's finally back home. We were so excited to have her join our team in February of this year!

Dr. Braybon has a love of all things dairy cows, with a strong interest in herd reproduction. She's also a certified Dairy Australia Countdown Mastitis and Repro Right Advisor. When asked about her favorite part of working at MVVS, she said she loves getting to service and know the farms in the area she grew up in, as well as the great team she works with every day.

Outside of work, you can find her spending time with family, playing netball, running Parkruns, and hiking through Tassie's beautiful landscapes.

Next up in our "Meet the Vets of the Meander Valley" series is the fantastic Dr. Inthuja Thiruyoheswaran! ๐Ÿพ

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Inthuja (or 'Thooj' as she's known) made a big move to Melbourne to get her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Melbourne in 2024. Despite not growing up with animals, she always knew she wanted to work with them. After graduating, she decided she needed a change of pace, and we're so glad she landed here in Tassie!

In the three months she's been with us, Inthuja has been keen to dive into everything mixed practice has to offer. Her favorite things about working at MVVS are the wide variety of cases and species she gets to treat and our incredibly supportive team (especially since they're so patient with all her questions!).

When she's not at the clinic, you can find Inthuja curled up with a good book, enjoying Tassie's beautiful landscapes, and dancing. She's also trying her hand at baking, so we're hoping for some sweet treats to appear in the staff room soon!

Next up in our "Meet the Vets of the Meander Valley" series is the amazing, Dr. Claire Lee!

A true local, Claire grew up right here on a farm in Dairy Plains, which is where her deep love for all things cattle began. After graduating with her BVSc from The University of Melbourne in 2012, she joined the Meander Valley Veterinary Services family in January 2021 and has been an invaluable part of our team ever since.

When it comes to her work, Claireโ€™s passion is all about cows! ๐Ÿ„ She loves everything from pregnancy testing (which she says is her absolute favourite!), to calvings, calf health, disbudding, and whole herd health. Sheโ€™s happiest as long as there's a cow involved, whether itโ€™s a sick cow, a disease investigation, or an abdominal surgery. What she loves most about her job is the opportunity to drive around our beautiful countryside and work with our lovely local farmers.

Outside of the clinic, youโ€™ll find Claire enjoying the great outdoors. She loves bushwalking, tending to her veggie garden, looking after her own little herd of Hereford cows, or just spending time with her two dogs, Harry and Monty.

Yesterday also happened to be Claire's birthday so drop her some birthday love in the comments! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿฅณ

Get ready to meet another one of the amazing vets at Meander Valley Vets! We're continuing our new "Meet the Vets" series with the wonderful Dr. Isabelle Evans! ๐Ÿพ

Originally hailing from Western Australia, Isabelle grew up on a sprawling 200-acre farm in York, surrounded by a lively menagerie of animals and show horses. With a family full of four-legged friends, she says becoming a vet was "a necessity!" After graduating from Murdoch University in 2020, she spent three years working in a mixed practice in the mining town of Kalgoorlie before seeing the light and moving to Tassie with her partner and four furry companions!

Isabelle, who has been with MVVS for 8 months, has a strong interest in equine general practice, with a passion for lameness, rehabilitation, and dentistry. What she loves most about working here is the fantastic team and getting to practice in what she calls "Australia's version of the Cotswolds."

When she's not at the clinic, you can find Isabelle riding horses, camping, exploring waterfalls, or baking up a storm (especially if it involves chocolate!). She's also a fan of live music and comedy shows and has even dabbled in country women's soccer and hockey. One day, she hopes to travel to Europe to see the real Cotswolds and visit her family's heritage ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿž๏ธ๐Ÿซ

Next up in our "Meet the Vets of the Meander Valley" series is the talented Dr. Felicity Crowden BVSc (hons), BBSC (Hons), PhD (biochemistry)!

After graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2010, she joined MVVS in 2011, making her one of our longest-serving vets (other than the boss, of course!).

Originally from Warrandyte, Melbourne, her love for all things sheep was definitely sparked by a couple of years living in rural New Zealand.

When she's not busy expertly handling anything surgical, or caring for sheep and wildlife, you'll likely find her looking after her two kids and husband, or even better, dancing or teaching dance!

We're so lucky to have her incredible skills and energy on the team ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฆ˜๐Ÿ’๐Ÿฆ…๐Ÿ’ƒ

We're so excited to continue our "Meet the Vets of the Meander Valley" series! This time, we're introducing the wonderful Dr. Phoebe Cahill! ๐Ÿด๐Ÿถ

A true local, Phoebe was born and raised right here in Devonport, Tasmania. After some adventures and horse riding, she headed to Perth, Western Australia, where she graduated from Murdoch University in 2018 with a BSc and BVMS (HD) and earned the prestigious University Medal. We're so glad she found her way back home and has been a fantastic part of our team for two years!

Dr. Cahill has a strong passion for equine and small animal dentistry, equine reproduction, and providing the best possible quality of life care for her patients. When asked about her favorite part of working at MVVS, she says she loves the collaborative spirit and the amazing team she gets to work with every day.

Outside of the clinic, Phoebe loves to stay active and be outdoors, especially if it involves surfing and spending quality time with her beloved black cats, Wilkie and Sprout. ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›๐ŸŽ๐Ÿฆท๐Ÿ„โ€โ™€๏ธ

FOUND โ€“ BIRD โ€“ DELORAINE (MEANDER VALLEY REGION) 20/8/2025

UPDATE 28/8/2025: OWNER STILL NOT LOCATED
Message from Meander Valley Veterinary Service: "No one has come forward so he's now safely with a staff member for some normality just in case someone does come forward. It's such a shame because he's clearly been loved by someone!"

We have had a young Sun Conure here that has been dropped off by a member of the public at the Deloraine Vet Clinic.
We're assuming he is lost as he is very snuggly, although not trained to step up or anything like that.
Just wondering if you have had anyone report a missing bird as we'd love to reunite him with his humans.
