For decades, pain was seen as a function of the brain alone. But new research reveals the heart’s intrinsic nervous system nicknamed the “little brain” plays a crucial role.

Containing about 40,000 neurons, this network constantly communicates with the central nervous system, sending more signals to the brain than it receives.

These heart-to-brain signals reach areas tied to emotion and sensory processing, directly shaping how pain is felt.

Therapies such as vagus nerve stimulation and heart-rhythm coherence training already show promise in reducing pain intensity and its emotional impact.

What is this workshop about?

The heart, known as the "King of the Organs," is where the vital essence originates. It regulates all other organs and emotions. The heart combines with other organs to regulate circulation and maintain a healthy mind. If the heart is out of balance, all other organs and meridians suffer. It is also regarded as the basic defence against illness.

Studies have shown that the brain's limbic system and the heart directly link each other and that the heart possesses its own intelligence. Messages delivered to the heart from the emotional brain cause it to react; subsequently, the heart asks the brain to respond suitably.

Our resistance to change is reduced when the pathway between the heart and the brain is clear, consequently encouraging a movement towards homeostasis.
Cardiovascular diseases are the most prevalent diseases because the cells building the heart and blood vessels consume vitamins and other nutrients at a much higher rate than the other organs.

Optimum emotional, trauma, fascial, and muscular release along with dietary supplementation of vitamins and other essential nutrients is the key to the prevention and effective control of cardiovascular disease and other chronic health conditions.

Happy 30th Birthday to Philip Rafferty's RESET TMJ® modality.

In 1995, Philip developed his RESET TMJ® 1 workshop (Rafferty Energy System of Easing the Temporomandibular Joint), which is a gentle non muscle testing workshop that addresses specific TMJ Jaw issues. 

Philip originally created RESET TMJ® for his clients in Melbourne, who could learn a simple yet effective method of treating their TMJ problems for themselves and their families. This modality has now been taught in over 25 countries!

RESET TMJ® was derived from some of the TMJ work that was part of Kinergetics® Kinesiology modality, which Philip developed in 1991.

Philip developed RESET TMJ® 2 2012. This workshop is useful for maintaining the improvements from RESET TMJ® 1.

In 2022, Philip co-authored RESET TMJ® 3 with Germaine Byrne. Focusing on the cranial nerves (vagus system) and TMJ dysfunction, this addition to the modality is exciting and very popular.

On August 1st, 2025, eight new Instructors of RESET TMJ® 3 graduated.
We look forward to growing and expanding RESET TMJ® 1-3 in Denmark, Germany, Austria, Spain, and Switzerland.
