An early sneak peek at Stage 2 of our Kanangra Redevelopment!

We are delighted to share that Oliver Kelly Group, Design Intent Architecture, and their outstanding team of sub-contractors achieved practical completion before Christmas. A fantastic result, finishing an impressive 12 weeks ahead of schedule.

A sincere thank you to all trades involved in this stage of the project. The quality of workmanship has been outstanding, and the pride taken in the delivery of this space is evident throughout.

Subject to final paperwork and approvals, we are targeting a mid-January opening of the new areas, with Stage 3, the third and final phase, commencing around the same time.

Stage 2 includes:
- A new entry and reception.
- A new resident sitting area.
- Three new resident rooms.
- A dedicated Lifestyle & Leisure space.
- An additional lounge area with future access to our new internal courtyard once Stage 3 is complete.

Please note, additional furniture and finishing touches are still to come.

As you may have seen, Aged Care Deloraine has recently been successful in securing a major grant for our Grenoch Home through the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing’s ‘Aged Care Capital Assistance Program’ (ACCAP).
We have kept the details relatively quiet while the formal processes were completed, but we are pleased to confirm that the contract with the Australian Government has now been officially signed and executed.

With this milestone reached, we are excited to share more information with you.

Our ambitious plan is to expand our Grenoch Home by an additional 40 beds, each with its own ensuite, ensuring we can continue to meet the growing needs of the Meander Valley community for many years to come.

In addition to the increased capacity, the project will deliver several significant facility enhancements, including:
- Expanded communal living and dining areas
- GP and consultation rooms
- Hydrotherapy facilities
- Dedicated allied health spaces

In total, this project represents an investment of $17,987,158 into the local economy, funded through the ACCAP grant.

We would like to sincerely thank the Australian Government for their continued trust in our ability to deliver large-scale projects that benefit the Meander Valley and the wider Tasmanian community. We extend our gratitude to our Board for their leadership and vision in directing this project as part of our future planning, and to our Executive Team for their ongoing commitment and hard work in bringing this vision to life.

We look forward to keeping you updated as we progress through the next stages of this important and exciting development.

Recently at Kanangra, we were lucky enough to welcome Maddie Paige Photography and Breakfast At Trinady’s - Makeup Artist for an exciting glamour photography session!

Maddie and Trinady have been bringing their vibrant style to aged care homes across the North West, and we were thrilled to be on their list. Our residents and staff had an absolute blast — plenty of smiles, laughter, and feel-good moments all round.

We look forward to sharing more images with you shortly, and each resident who took part will receive their own framed copy.

A huge thank you to Maddie and Trinady for visiting us and creating such a fun and unforgettable experience!

Today, on ,we take a moment to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. We remember those who have returned home, whether injured or ill, in body or spirit, and we acknowledge the bravery of those who continue to serve our country today.

Our residents and staff wear red poppies as a symbol of remembrance, inspired by the poem "In Flanders Fields," which reflects on the poppies growing over soldiers' graves in war-torn fields. The day serves as an important reminder of the cost of war and the value of peace, as well as an opportunity to express gratitude to those who have served in the past and those who continue to serve.

A small glimpse at Oliver Kelly Group and Design Intent Architecture fantastic progress on Stage 2 of our Kanangra ACAR project.
Despite some recent challenging weather, this week will see the roof completed over the main section of the building, marking a significant milestone in the project.

This project has been made possible via funding from Commonwealth Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, and their Aged Care Approvals Round (ACAR) grant scheme. We are extremely grateful to the Australian Government’s continuing support and investment in Aged Care Deloraine.

Congratulations Christine! 💐 Your kindness, time and care means so much to so many. Aged Care Deloraine is thrilled to see your volunteer work recognised with these awards. Thank you for all that you do.

It's with immense pride that I congratulate Christine Chilcott on being recognised with two prestigious Volunteering Tasmania awards:

🌟 The Lifetime Commitment Award, sponsored by Aurora Energy.

🌟 The Premier’s Volunteer of the Year Award.

These awards are a testament to Christine's unwavering dedication, tireless work, and profound impact on our community over many years.

What makes it really special is that she has not only embodied these values herself but has also instilled them in her children and grandchildren, creating a legacy of service that makes the Meander Valley so much better.

And we are so grateful.

Hi everyone,

Aged Care Deloraine is thrilled to announce that we have been successful in securing a Commonwealth Government grant through the Aged Care Capital Assistance Program.

This funding will support the much-needed expansion of Grenoch Home, ensuring that older people in the Meander Valley and surrounding areas can continue to access high-quality aged care close to home.

The expansion will help us meet the growing needs of our community, provide more opportunities for ageing in place, and strengthen the support we offer to residents, families, and staff.

We sincerely thank the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing for their commitment to investing in regional aged care.

We are now working with the Government to finalise the agreement and will share more details as the project develops.

This is a truly exciting milestone for Aged Care Deloraine — an investment not only in buildings, but in people, care, and community. 💙

Today across Australia people are pausing to connect, reflect, and ask, 'are you OK?'.

It's been 17 years since the first R U OK? Day in 2009. That one single day of action is now a year-round conversation movement thanks to you and the tens of thousands of others across the nation who share the R U OK? message and encourage more life changing conversations, not only on R U OK? Day but every day.

When you ask someone how they're really going, make time to listen and support them through difficult times you're helping us create a nation where we are all connected and protected from su***de.

You are helping us inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with the people they care about and lend support when they are struggling with life.

Again, thank you for asking R U OK? Any Day and for all you do to help the people in your world feel seen, heard and supported.

This is how change happens - one conversation at a time, one generation at a time.
